XJ Hi Lift mount

When I bought my XJ, I thought that since it had been around so long and so many have modified them then modifications and info on what works and what doesn't would be ironed out into a fine art. Boy was I wrong. Just look at the endless threads of worthless info that the Naxtards post. What a joke when it comes to getting good info on what works. Seems like as the price of these rigs hits rock bottom then so did the quality of info available on them and the people that post the info. Sad. Any way since good and safe storage on a Hi-lift jack in an XJ has been debated to the point of rocket science on the other sites I decided starting from scatch would be my best bet. And guess what? The stupid jack slides right under the passenger seat uncut. Lift the rear cuision and it pivots right out. Slide the passenger seat foward and the jack has plenty of room to slide right under the front passenger seat. Now the base is flush against the steel rear seat bulkhead and held with a bolt and wing nut and a bungie will stop the top from rattling against the inside of the outboard seat base frame. The front passengers don't even realize its just under them and the rear...Who cares if you have to put 1 foot on the jack. Slide seat foward, pop out rear seat cuision and undo a wingnut and bungie and it's ready for action.
