So yesterday, I had a packed day at work. Meetings all day, the plan was to load up the camper after work, finish the new propane system, pack and today after a half day head into the Eagle caps and Salt Creek summit for a dog sled race all weekend.

After lunch, i parked my truck and got to the next few hours of meetings; in between i went out to grab my wallet and noticed she was dumping coolant at a pretty rapid rate. Now she is sitting with240kish miles, and the water pump and T stat are still OE, unheard of on these 6.0"s especially one that has worked as hard as this one. I bet you even remember me saying a few times, that i needed to just replace it last summer for good measure. This I did not do, takes us to yesterday.

I had a 3:00 in town with the Fire Dept, so was able to pick up a water pump, T stat, new gaskets, and a fan clutch. However at this time we are sitting at 4:30, and its getting dark. I dont have a shop to work in, could use the one at work if needed, and its also starting to rain... but all my tools ( most of them, I keep a small set in the truck) are at home. I was able to dump a gallon of water in, and drive it home.

A friend was able to follow me home, we were prepped to tow if needed. By flashlight and headlamp we got it replaced, bled, and topped off. Only took about 45mins. I dont have much for pictures so ill leave you with this, excuse the mess

I also, did some work on my on board air, in preparation for the tanks, New fittings, and hoses. Ill add pictures this weekend, I have an ARB compressor tucked into one of my tool box's. Once I have the one maybe two 2.5 gallon tanks in, ill run a line and gauge/switch to each air bag so i can inflate/deflate the airbags w/o having to use the air hose and chuck. ( i know first world problems) Also just in the tool box, cause im sick of runing stuff into the cab, and the bed will go on a different truck most likely someday.

Yeah, she has a few thats for sure. I did Blow a half shaft this weekend, so ill be replacing both for good measure. Just buggered a boot, and got grease everywhere. And ill add a leaf spring in the rear, and redo the bushings on them as well.

She really is a dang great truck!!!

Well I got both 1/2 shafts installed, had a break in the weather for a few hours. Glad I jumped on it, it's been pouring since. Jacked the front up w/ the hi lift, dropped a jack stand. Pulled the front tires off, and went to town.

The passenger side is the one that was buggered, you can see where the boot is bad. And she sprayed grease all over the underbody. Got a lot of it wiped up but not all.

To get the axle nut off I convinced mum to stand on the breaks. That, and a big cheater bar was all it took. The biggest pain was actually just getting it wiggled out after it was un bolted. Turns out cranking the wheel all the way is the trick.

I replaced the driver side as well since I was under there. And also saw a bit of what must be leaking break fluid on the driver side. I have an idea of where it's coming from, but not sure. The hose has a tear in the insulation, so it makes sense that's where the leak Is. However that was dry.

I also included a pic of the compressor in the box. The new hoses and wire harness. They don't seal very well, so I drilled a hole in the bottom so water could at least drain out. That's why I have the totes in there.

Finally got smart and replaced the star wrench with a 1/2 inch breaker bar and 22mm impact socket.

More gifts! But with the 8 fresh inches of snow on the ground, single digit Temps: not to mention a 7+ hour drive ( in good weather) and the need to pack my loadout and kit for extended remote winter medical operations I'm not seeing them installed anytime soon. :( maybe when I get back on the 22nd.

Good to see you got your repairs done and you are ready to rock Mr Yetti. I am surprised that you would use any products from Skyjacker. Anyways I hope your install goes well and your truck is where you want it in no time. Keep us posted with your activity. Cheers, Chilli..

chili- after 240K miles the rear leafs are a little saggy, it's an add a leaf kit. About 2 inches, but will put my back at about my stock height.

Looks like I'll be replacing my radiator- again though Stock, at) 240K. She is leaking, I think* bottom rear on the drivers side. But pretty hard to tell, I was unable to get it to do it with the hood up watching, all the hoses have been replaced. Maybe, on of the little plastic fittings. It is 100 % on the drivers side rear( toward fire wall) either top plastic fitting, but I think it's coming from somewhere on the bottom.

I may not know until I get it off and opened up. It's my last 3 day weekend, and happens to be the time I hit 29- so was hoping to load the camper, and dog and disappear for a long weekend.
