I'm diggin your Runner. I was just on the Toytec site and drooling over all the lift options. Did you change your shocks to longer ones when you add the coils? Did you use a spring compressor for the rears?

I did use spring compressors for the front, the rears didn't need them, just lift the truck up by the frame and use the bottle jack between the frame and axle, once spaced enough you can pull the springs right out. I didnt put on new shocks, but just ordered OME nitrochargers for the rear, the fronts feel fine for now.

Got my Nitrochargers in the mail this week, so this weekend they are going on! Also got an overland trophy dvd, a little dated, 2006 but still should be a good watch. Free with over $100 from TRDparts4u.

To answer the earlier question about the bed liner, it is roll on, duplicolor, so far so good, but not the best of stuff, not as durable as I would have hoped for.

Got my nitrochargers on this weekend, not to hard at all, ride is better, cant tell to much on the road, but over speed bumps and rough stuff you can tell a difference.

Nice work Yoda! I'm trying to decided what to do lift wise on my wife's '03. I'm sort of a newbie when it comes to suspension, but got some practice on lifting an old Samurai and replacing struts on an old Maxima. I think I'm ready for doing the springs and shocks on the Runner.

Did you have the front-end aligned after the lift? Any vibrations or binding anywhere?

Thanks!

I did do an alignment after the lift, but not again after I replaced the rears, I dont think the rear can be aligned on the solid axles back there. There was/is no binding since I did the dif drop, and no vibrations either! Hoping to keep it that way. The lift int he front was a pain to get on, I should have done the struts at the same time, since now Im thinking I need new struts up front too, probably have someone install those though, not worth the effort.

Nice, subtle work!

I am planning on doing the same thing down both sides of my runner and in place of the fender flares I removed.

Was it difficult to remove the masking without messing up the edge?
What product did you use?
Any advice to someone applying this stuff for their first time?

Thanks.

It was kinda hard to get the tape to come off easily, if I did it again, I would use a razor blade on the edge to cut it way from the tape before removing it. I used Dupicolor roll on bed liner, 2 different kinds...

This type was cheaper, and I liked in better in my opinion, it was just a smooth rubberized type paint that you could texture how you wanted by rolling it on, etc... This was used on both bumpers...

This stuff was more, and had bits of rubber in the liner itself to give a texture, I didnt like it and it was harder to get the way I wanted it even though it costs more. It may hold up better, only time will tell. This was used on the rocker panels.

As far as advice, its pretty easy, just mask it off, sand it, clean it, and go to town with the bedliner, I used a small paint roller from lowes and the texture was just right for me when using the cheaper of the too bedliners.

Looks good!

Instead of using a razor blade go to an auto body supply shop and get the wire edged tape. You'll still need to use a razor for smooth curves, but the wire edge will make short work of straight lines.
