Yokohama Geolander A/T-S for a minivan?

No, we do more like 30-40,000 per year. We've done 50 in less than 2 years, and last year Tina wasn't working.

Where we are here, we get more snow, and not much ice. Tends to be wet, slushy, heavy snow. Black ice almost never happens. The only real risk we have for ice is when we go to Ottawa. I can manage that with non-ice tires. Tread really is what I need, some place for heavy, warm, wet snow to go. And the roads are clear most of the time. Might be driving on snow twice a week from Dec-Mar.

As I write that, it makes me realize, the A/T's really do make a lot of sense.

That's why I liked the Wintersport M3's so much. You gave up nothing when the road was clear. I don't need Blizzaks, that's for sure.

The Yoko's do sound like the way to go then.
Out here, at the last company I worked for, the parking lot was filled with cars runnign Blizzaks. At that company they deal with a very large number of tire manufacturers, and they can get deals on all of them, but everyone runs Bridgestone winters for a reason, they simply are the best.
But for the retail customer, they are also pretty expensive!

I ran Blizzak's on my VW Fox in '99, won an ice racing championship against AWD cars in my daily driver. They were the best. Haven't needed them since I left Ottawa.

I just can't believe what's happened to the tire market anymore. The All Seasons really aren't anymore.

We chose the Geolander A/T-S for our Astro-based Tiger camper:

We put these tires on in the Spring so we've only had them in the snow once but they performed fine. No idea how they'll do on ice. They're relatively quiet for an A/T and also work great in the dirt. Ours are Load Range D and rated for 60PSI so there are a lot of options for variations in tire pressure to suit the load.

I'm a long time BFG A/T user but I'm so happy with the Geolander that I'm considering putting a set on our Tacoma.
