Your bed set up

Resurecting this thread to show off my newest addition in preparation for my exploration from olympia, WA east through Idaho, Montana, Wyoming. It is a pretty simple set up, I wanted it to be able to slide out as a complete unit for when not in use. I insulated in between to help out with those cold nights and carpeted the top for looks and functionality. I wish I had taken the time to snap some photos when building was in progress but you know how it gets when you get involved in something and don't wanna take the time! :smiley_drive: The basic design is a box frame with center supports built with 2x4's and covered with a 3/4" sheet of plywood. The end of it is hinged so that I can utilize a 12" longer section because of the shortness of the DC's bed, yet still be able to swing it up and shut the tailgate.

That is hands down the most ingenious setup for a full length sleeping platform in a short bed Taco I have ever seen! Awesome idea! :Wow1:

Surplus boxes in the bed, one for kitchen/bath and the other for pantry.

Boundary Waters Waterproof Bag from Cabelas holds sleeping bag, pillows, clothing etc. and keeps them dry up on the roof rack. This is the Magnum size and is very durable IMO.

Here's what I have been using, I plan on going to a FlipPac soon and some other refinements. The rack and RTT will go up for sale.

Off to Baja next week, first time with a mini truck and needed some cargo containment. Two Action Packers, an ice chest, and spare tire mount. Not bad for a days work, Thanks Mike! We'll see how it holds up to 1000 miles in Baja.
