So it clogged on you? That is the point of my question a nice shower is 3-4 gallons, and that is a lot of fresh water if you're hauling it. It'd be nice to use salt water, then just do a quick rinse of the pump and shower head with fresh.
3-4 gallons is a nice shower.. but you can get by on far less if you pace it. My wife and I took 2 showers each on 5 gallons + what we had in the cooler (melted ice). We soak for a minute, apply soap with the water off, and then rinse for a minute. Thats the nice thing about having a low volume pump... you can waste alot of water in a hurry.
On a side note... I'll be picking up a couple Scepter water tanks that will ideally be used just for shower water. I have a cheapy Blitz I took with me last time... the inlet is slightly smaller than my pump. With the scepter tanks I won't even have to dismount them, just drop the pickup unit into the tank and shower away.
Our solution to the small tank opening...
Dump our freshwater into the cooler... between that and the melted icewater we had plenty of shower water :sunflower
