Did you use the hardware kit? Did you have to shorten any sections of the ladder off to get it to fit flush when it's folded up on the tent?
Any other tips? I plan on upgrading the cord on the inside... How water resistant is it? Mines been used like 3 times before I got it so Its as new. Trying to get all the info I can on the front end before we're out on the road.....

Yes as I recall I did have to shorten it but it wasn't difficult. The water repellency wasn't the greatest but was improved by some Nikwax spray. http://www.nikwax.com/en-gb/products/productdetail.php?productid=498 Other than replacing the shockcord and mending the cover we didn't really do anything other than the ladder.
Our biggest complaints were stowing it, the cover flapping at speed, and the volume of the tent making it a bit cold below ~45 degrees.
