Battery Tender 15 w Solar CHarger

Thinking of getting on to supplement my second battery. The dang fridge runs it down in 36 hours. Attracted to them because of Battery Tenders history of quality and it has the built in controller. My plan is to set it inside the windshield and hold it against the glass with my sunshade and visors. My concern is using it in a confined space, off gassing perhaps, getting so hot as to melt my dash board. Anyone out there have any experience with these? Any other suggestions? I know nothing about solar so designing and building something like this from unrelated parts and companies would be unlikely without some big time help.

I can't help with your questions.... But I don't think 15 watts is enough for what you want it to do. Tho I'm no expert....

Seems they only put out 1 amp/hr under ideal sun. Fridge draws 4. Would help but it would no where near generates replacement rate. Crap!

Not trying to be a jerk or anything....(well, actually....)

How is 2-1/2 times the price for half the wattage a "much better" value?? The only thing you get with the Brunton unit is portability...

I was comparing to OP product, but ya i hear your point, you pay double and still only get 25w, but at least it's a quality product that will last you a LONG time compared to the rigid solar panel style we are comparing it to, especially if you plan on using it on the road VS fixed on the roof of your house
