Question for LR3 owners

I have an 08 LR3 that I bought 1 year ago. As far as I know, it still has the original battery. I just returned from a 4500 mile trip to New England, where I began sporadically noticing the info section of the gauge cluster being reset when I started my truck. At first, it was usually in the morning after having sat for the night, but now it's every time I start the truck. The tripometer resets to 0.0, and the rest of the info is set back to only showing the clock and the temp (which I usually keep set to show my distance to empty.) Any suggestions, observations? There seems to be no sluggishness upon starting the truck, but this little gauge cluster thing is kinda starting to drive me crazy.

Thanks!

Get a new battery. Problem solved.

I have a 06 LR3 and had identical issues on a daily/ weekly. I replaced the original with a Diehard Platinum and haven't had the issue again.

Sweet...thanks for the info. I kinda thought that might be it, but wanted to see if anybody else had similar experience. Looks like I'll get a new battery today!:wings:

Ben, when did you get your Diehard Platinum? I bought a new battery for my 06 LR3 last April. I couldnt find a Diehard Platinum for the LR3. Sears told me they didnt have one that fit...had to go to O'Reillys in a pinch...UGH!

None of the Sears stores around here had a platinum in stock that would fit. I ended up going with a Gold gel cell with the same CCA's. So far my gauge cluster is staying where I put it, and all seems well.

Make sure if you change the battery yourself that the vent tube is not blocked. This can cause the battery to overheat and dump acid all over your wiring harness and computers, about $8k to replace.

Thanks for that advice. Sears put it in, but I'll double check.
