kb7our's production time isn't going to reflect current production time as he was one of the early adopters who put their name down for the Habitat when it was still just a concept. His delivery was also delayed as he withdrew from the project and then re-entered, resulting in a lower position in the delivery schedule. kb7our fully understands he will be receiving an outstanding product that will provide years of enjoyment making the wait worthwhile.

Should the forge hold their delivery date, the lead time for a Habitat order placed now would have delivery scheduled in mid-December or early January based on the number of orders in the queue at this time. The Holidays puts a two week speed bump in the production schedule at the end of the year.

I spoke with Mario a little earlier today and received the same terrific customer service I remember while purchasing an AT Flip Pac a few years ago. Now, I need to find a way to rationalize that I NEED one. Or maybe better put, I need to find a way to convince my wife that WE need one!

Hopefully her answer will be something like: "That Jeep Camper sounds like a good idea. We can drive to the mall and stay more comfortably as a family while we wait for the stores to open for the Thankgsgivings sales and you will be there with me in all the stores carrying my bags."

Dang... I haven't had time to use mine. I have been swamped at work since i got back with the habitat. What little time I have had is trying to finish outfitting the water system and electrical. Still have tons of stuff to do.

We are going to receive the new prototype awning later next week. After we have had a chance to play with it, we will post some pictures. We will display it on a Habitat at Off Road Expo in Pomona, CA Oct 6 & 7 at the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds.

Have they started work on the walls you said would attach to the awning?
I want two awnings, one for the back and one for the driver side. Then instead of walls on the adjacent sides make a roof piece that attaches where the walls would. at the wide end it would need more support, so put another pole in the middle, a bit lower than the standard awning end pole and stake it down. It would then act as a roof and gutter for the two main awnings.
Then you could still put walls up on the two outside parts and have a huge covered area even larger than the bat wing.
They only bad thing about these is you have to have the tent top at least open to attach, zip on, the awnings. But the two latches are easy to open. and the torsion bar pulls the top up enough to get the job done without attaching the handle.

We will need to confirm that all is well with this 3rd prototype before the walls are finalized. There is a provision for hanging the wall structure. Instead of separate loose walls, the system will be more like the Nemo Bugout Elite that is suspended and and less prone to flying insect ingress than separate walls that are used by other mfgs.
