Who wants LED's but fear the price?

Well fret no more friends after some searching & digging I found a thread. I think its got some good info, but I'll let you decide.

Ok... Rigid dealers will hate but thats life.

The quality IS nicer and the output is equal. Dollar per lumen the chinese light is twice as good. I am pretty excited and will be buying more, heres a couple pics. As you can see the china light has a better color too

Both rigid and china light are flood beam and both brand new

I'm ordering 2 of these lights..the color is much nice to the eye than Rigids blue color. And yes if you notice those are Dually D1's with 4 leds vs a china 4 led light. The D2 duallys would put these to shame but again cost 3x as much. Duallys are common for off the rig back up lights or camping lights..well I think these china lights have taken that spot. Look at them side by side, output is near identical & the cost is 80 for 2...He has side by side testing of each, so he would know!
For long range LED lighting Rigid gets my business but for close range, back up ect ect these china lights are working it! I haven't seen a 10" SR spector light up however after some searching they appear to be the best bang for your buck from Rigid..cost less than 2 D2's & it looks perfect to mount mid bumper. The cost is anywhere from 290-370 pending where you look & Rigid will price match anyone for you!

I'm going to order 2 of these LED pods as back up lights & if they turn out good another set for fog lights up front. Theres another light called a Blitzpro something. Its a single row of 6 leds that should be good as a camping light! And from the thread the cost appears to be 20-30 bucks. Now I just need to find them online somewhere!

Ok pics didn't show, so I'll download & repost them for everyone here after lunch:)

I think I need a bigger truck!
Good prices... quality will remain to be seen?

I like the little 4 LED round lights, just what I am looking for in side and rear lights for the rack (camp site setup in the dark etc). Too bad they are out of stock, might try them out.

Oh no the LED pod I'm talking about isn't blitzpro..
The Bliztpro that would be good for camping lights off the rig is this.
http://blitzpro.com/led-bar-light.html
6" long 2" tall..perfect for mount on roof racks pointing outward. Theres pics online but not very many! They throw light 50ft roughly & quite wide. I think 2 per side is perfect, that'd cost 120 bucks + shipping. 1 srm Rigid led cost 100 bucks.. 1 SRM2 from Rigid is 150. Yes the SRM2 would put out alot more light but also $30 vs $150. Theres been no complaints on the quality or the any failures & the thread I'm referencing is 6months old give or take.

I'm getting pitures & links for those pods right now! & a few pics of the Bliztpro's.

Well lets get your sorted friend:)

This is 1 7" Kragen HID upgraded from 35W to 55W, Euro beam light. 8000K. These lights come with 6k blubs & 35W ballast...higher wattage washes color, so he did 8k bulbs! You can order these lights upgraded to 55W already now as well. These cost around 90 bucks each.

Jeep didn't move at all, 6" Bliztpro cost 30 dollars.

THESE ARE NOT BLITZPRO LIGHTS!!! I gotta get the link up for these, but they are a knock off "china" brand.
LED pods (knock off dually d1)

The quality is named as better numerous numerous times. The overall housing being better made ect. Also light color..if you haven't seen Rigids in person at night, they are honestly harsh on the eyes. Some lights more than others. Some give off a very blue looks, 6-8K in color. The Dually D2's are notorious for this. These knock off pods are actually giving a much more suttle lighting color of 4300-5000K.

Light pattern of a single LED knock off
LEDpods5.jpg

These are a set of Dodge Viper Projectors he tested against..from what I was told I guess there was issues & he was asked to take down the actual side-by-side of knock off vs Rigid. something about marketing lights without being a vendor although the guys not selling these, just bought and compared them & if that were the case why not take down the Knock off light lol? I think its honestly because these knocks offs rivaled or out did the Rigids. So he used his Vipers Projector headlights to test against:Wow1:
LEDpods6.jpg

Rigid does offer, spot, wide or diffused patterns. I like the round look of the knock offs better & the pattern is the same, the housing is also slightly smaller. I also like the housing better..cleaner, no allen screws! The Rigids tested were the D1 (4led) pods in a wide pattern. They spread light a bit further, the knocks off being a bit wider, sucks the pics were changed on us but I believe the comparison to the Vipers Projector lights is a great show & tell. Now Rigid is known to be the best & I think they are because they offer different patterns and such a wide variety of lights. Their SRM lights are amazing, flush mounting now and everything! But cost is a big issue for most..especially since these lights are 1 screw to take off. Very close to me a big 40" E series was stolen of a JK that parks not even a block away. He still hasn't found his light! That was a 1400 dollar lose! I personally tack weld the nuts on all my lights but still thats a big investment to lose.
This certain brand of knock offs is actually very very good, and price is very low! They do rival the Rigid duallys in quality & output when compared fairly. The color is much nicer on these knock offs which is a huge plus for me. These are china no names, I'll link you to them but otherwise thats all I know. I'm not selling or boasting products, just mearly posting what I found after some searching for others. I don't work for anyone, not getting discounts or anything..literally found that thread after it was bumped yesterday & figured I'd post it up for everyone! The thread is located here:
http://www.dezertrangers.com/vb/truck-talk/157571.htm

The knock off pods & LED bars are coming from dhgate.com. You have to search for them but they are the only site selling these lights that are preforming like this. Similar lights are found on ebay but they don't preform as well & usually cost more.

4LED pod China no names
http://m.dhgate.com/prodetail.do?itemcode=140215827&cid=&key=led work light&pagenum=41&sort=1

Also look up SanMaK. They are listed in that thread, making some nice LED bars & cheap to. I'm looking at ordering 1 of there 13.5" dual row LED bars for my bumper. As well as 2 knock off Pods up front for full time fog lights & 2 more for rear back up lights. The Blitzpro 6" led bar I'll be looking at using off my rig for camping/night time wheeling lights. The SanMak's are damn great for their price..idk how the compare to Rigids as no one did a comparison, however theres pics in that thread of a Ford Ranger with one of their 13.5" bars. The only ones I will personally say are equal to Rigids are the China no name pods & thats comparing Rigid Dually D1's vs no name pods.

Any questions? Shoot I'll do what I can do answer.

Thats the first I heard of Alien. Their bars look great however their pod housings don't appear to be as nice as Rigid or the knock offs posted. I'm always up for supporting vendors & I'm in no way claiming x-companies bars are better than y-companies bar as I've no evidence or photos or anything.. I was mainly commenting on camping lights for off the side of your rig & the Pods. I haven't found alien pods light up yet, but their actual housings don't appear to be as nice as these knock offs or Rigids. However their bars look great..most bars look amazing some just preform much worse than others.

I know where I'm buying pods & camping lights but where I'll be buying a 10-14" bar is undecided yet! Any pics of those Alien bars yet?

Can you post a picture of your pods? Do you have areos, or the weird 2" pods? Or teh 2.5" pods? The picture of the stackable ones on the webside are very very unattractive looking, kind square but they look really long. However those round ones posted in the thread don't look bad & the pics of them look pretty decent. I missed the other pods earlier. Theres the Areo which is the round version. The 2.5" which is similar housing as the Rigid. Its actually the same exact housing at the knock off's posted above..but only has 1 LED similar to the VisonX Solo's which is interesting, while the China knock offs are using 4LED's like Rigid! I wonder if those 2.5" 1LED pods out preform the knock off 4LED pods posted above...the housings are the exact same! I also am certain those 1led pods are pulling less power...obviously! .7 amps in very nice:)

The areos have a nice pattern. Predictable by its shape..kinda a spot, not very wide until its out at a distance some! Great for back up lights no doubt!
Those 2.5" pods look like they will have a similar pattern just a different shape to the housing itself? I think the 4LED pods posted above will out preform them though...thats just me thinking 4LED's being better than 1, but I dunno? Hoping there will be night pics of the lights I posted soon.
I'm looking for a decent square pod for the front & rear of my jeep. For fogs & for back up lights..I would sacrifice on the back being round (those areos looks good) but up front I must have a square pod. The rounds just won't look right. But can you grab more pics for us? Lets make this a thread about Pods/camping lights not the LED bars. Pods & camping/work lights only..everyone's bars look great & all preform pretty much the same. Pods for fogs, back up lights & camping lights is mainly what I'm interested in! Price is a factor here as well, so list the price of what your using & maybe links to the items?

Whats the price on those Areos with/without the group buy discount? The 2.5" pods are similar to the dually d1's price @ $95 each. Duallys being 100 each. I posted the pods above because they are amazing quality & only $40 each..and in the pics above theres tons of light from a single pod. Also to add those were cell phone pictures which is hurting the ability to show the actual light. But they do look similar to the Areos in output. Areos look slightly brighter & obviously have a different beam pattern. They throw light further down the road as well..but again are double the cost!
Bar you do have the Areo's right? If not what pods do you have & can you post pics and a price you got them for?

As stated, photos are in the GB thread linked above. I have the new round aero pods, and I can confirm that the SINGLE 10W cree in the pod outshines the blitzpro 4LED pods posted above byt a LARGE margin (I use the blitzpro for fog lights, so I have both types). The aliens really are MUCH MUCH brighter than the 4LED blitzpro above.

IMO, the blitzpro are perfect for Fog lights (rI eplaced my PIAA 510s with them), while the alien aeropods are great for aux or reverse lights. The aliens would be too bright to be used as fogs unless you want to get flashed by every car you see.

That top link has a very nice light in it. I like it alot actually but 300 bucks for its kinda steep. At that price I would get 2 Dually D2's and have far more light.

Maybe but you cant change the lights on a d2; To go from all flood to all spot, and any combination inbetween....
