Jeep to a Toyota!?!?

Before my 100 series, I had a 2007 Jeep JKU, 2.5inch lift on 33s, winch/ bumper and had all kinds of reliability related issues. Had a CAI/exhaust/chip too. Was decent, but not worth all the trouble. That's why I've found myself in a Toyota.

Both the KDSS system and ATRAC are amazing. KDSS has been around on on Land Cruisers for many years and shouldn't result in any reliability issues. It's a very cool system and makes me think about getting a 4runner often.

Man I wish I could afford a Land Cruiser. I've always looked at them the same way I look at jaguars and porsches. I'm sold on the KDSS system after looking at a couple more treads about it. So I think I'll focus on looking for a Trail Edition 4Runner now.

Thanks guys for all the feedback.

you can pick up a nice used 100 series land cruiser with around 100,000 miles for less than half of a new TE 4runner...just saying
the 4.7l seems to be pretty bombproof...it is the one engine I would think about trading my 4.0l tacoma for...
heard rumors that many are pushing 400K on them

Ive had a 98 XJ that I loved. As well as a 04 TJ that was ok and a 04 WJ that was utter garbage. Ive owned and driven a '00 Land Cruiser for nearly 2 years now and have loads more respect for the vehicle in all regards- daily driving, on the trail, reliability, fit and finish. I still respect Jeep and its heritage, but for my needs, I'm all for the Land Cruiser.

Would love to have that motor in my Taco, that is if this one ever decides to let go...

Yeah I understand that. But after searching in the DC area I don't really see anything worth the money. I'll keep my eye open for one tho.

me too...wish they had exercised that option in the 2nd gen taco like they did the 4th gen 4runner...
which is another great option IMO if you are like me with no kids...much smaller than the LC but still has the v8 motor option and can be had cheap...

All of the 100 series that I've seen around here have to many miles for me. I don't want to buy anything that has over 60 ot 70k. Even though I'm sure one with 130k or 140k is just getting broken in I still can't seem to buy one with that many miles.

I would pass on the 100, great motor, but torsion bar suspension front suspension. Can get a 4th gen 4Runner with that 4.7.

Could always look country wide for a vehicle, you can find deals of shipping. U-Ship seems to be reasonable.

Not sure why the Gen II Taco didn't get the V8...that always seemed odd to me. I would be all over the 1st Gen Tundra 4.7 if it came with a manual trans.

Seems like Toyota tends to miss the mark on a few things, apparently they don't listen to my letters. LOL ;)

Well after test driving a couple different toyota's I decided to purchase a FJ. This is just what I was looking for in a vehicle. So glad I came across this FJ. Thanks guys for all the feedback.

Wow. Pretty awesome. Although I'm a Jeep guy, just can't beat removable doors and top, those FJ's are cool.

Thanks! Yeah I understand that I will miss my no door Sundays. Maybe I'll get an older jeep later on down the road. But I think I'm keeping this FJ for a long time.
