"Being one of the more difficult off-road trails in the US and a test bed for Jeep products, the Rubicon Trail's name was first used on the Jeep Wrangler starting in 2003. Ten years later Jeep is celebrating the Wrangler Rubicon with a special package that makes it, "The most off-road capable Wrangler in history."

That's a pretty bold statement, but it definitely seems feasible after looking at some of the added equipment on the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition, such as a new winch-capable steel front bumper with removable end caps that allows full frontal exposure of the meatier BF Goodrich tires for better rock-crawling abilities. This new bumper alone allows the Wrangler to take on obstacles such as rocks or ruts practically head on, but the package also gives the Rubicon an extra half-inch lift and taller 265/70R17 tires.

Aside from its improved off-road prowess, the new model also has enough of a styling change to easily distinguish it from the standard Rubicon. For starters, the new front and rear bumpers and black-accented wheels give the Rubicon a beefed-up look, and a vented hood looks like it was sculpted by the same team responsible for the hood on the SRT Viper. The Anniversary Edition also gets plenty of plenty of color with red accents added to the front and rear tow hooks, shocks and a full red leather interior. The exterior will only be offered in three colors including an package-exclusive new blue-ish hue called Anvil, which is shown above. Mopar even gets in on the celebrations with finishing touches like black rocker panel rails, taillight guards and fuel door all coming standard.

The Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition is available on both the two-door Wrangler and the four-door Wrangler Unlimited, and while pricing has yet to be determined, the commemorative model goes on sale in the spring of 2013."

Ive said this on other forums but it looks like it was built by a highschooler using Pep boy parts. Whats up with Jeep putting red on everything? Looks like Wrangler got its styling from the out dated before it went into production Trailhawk. No body cares about red tow hooks. The hood vents (That i so hope are functional) look like those stick on kind you pick up at any parts store.

Best looking jeep yet, I would choose a red delete if possible. I don't think 265/70/17 tires are any taller than what offered before.

It looks pretty good - although like others I could pass on the red seats.

I am interested in the bumper - I wonder weather that was done by AEV or one of Chrysler-Fiat's regular suppliers.

Quoting from the press release: "-Available one-of-a-kind "Anniversary Red" leather interior". To me, that sounds like this is an option, and not standard issue for the Jeep.
EDIT - The Anvil color in some other pictures I have seen looks an awful lot like the Gunmetal Blue color used on the XJs.

Very, very nice. Wish I wasn't dirt poor. Love the front bumper. Even like the red seats.

Here's a Chrysler publicity photo that shows the hood vents and the front bumper with corners removed

The heat extracting vents look like blue whale nostrils, but that's just me.

I have not seen any announcement of pricing for the 10th Anniversary model.

I think the bumper looks hideous from that angle.. but maybe I just don't like stubbies.
I'm looking forward to seeing it with with end caps on.

The rear bumper is interesting.

I just thank Gawd for Chryco/Jeep who actually fields such a capable enthusiast's vehicle. A world with Rubicons of questionable styling is soooo much better than world with no Rubicon at all.

I like it. I've never owned a Jeep but I do enjoy what some people do with and to them. Very cool.

This looks like a pretty fun platform to start from.

... I kind of like that red too..

Confirmation on the AEV forums, the "plug" on the rear bumper fits the AEV tire carrier.

Very questionable styling...

Personally, no thank you. Especially when you consider the prices of previous Jeeps offered with any mods. I'd rather take the extra 8k this package will probably run and get my own front/rear, a real lift, and real tires.

That said... I enjoy the red accents on my black 2012 Rubi and might take those seats if I saw them available.

I guess thats a glass half full way to look at it.

AEV said on their forums that they had nothing to do with the bumpers or hood on this vehicle.
