Cool, still torn between a jurgens, yours, or something like an rpod

I came quite close to ordering a Jurgens but having to pay up front and no idea of delivery time scared me off. But it is undoubtedly better off-road trailer than my Escape. However my trailer would run circles around an Rpod over rough ground. The slide out on that trailer would become a headache after a few miles of washboard. At the time I bought my trailer there was a RV consumer group that listed the Escape as one of only 4 or 5 RVs that they considered suitable for off-highway travel. I'm sure they did not compare to A/Ts and such, probably did not know they existed.

Fiberglass trailers are built like a boat; two molded halves bolted and glued together. Most are still on the road after decades of hard use. Some date to the 50 and still sell at a good price.

Yeah, but I have a wife that doesn't camp and the thought of using the bathroom or a shower outside is not a popular one :)

Understood. That is a concern for many potential buyers. However it does have a Porta-potti which can be used inside or out, preferably in a shower enclosure. Of course showering in it too using a solar shower. Then there is always campground bathrooms and showers. Most people that own small trailers like this one will agree with me and say the bathroom is too small to be practical and end up using it mostly for storage.

Agree, we mostly stay at campgrounds these days. I am 6'4" so I agree on the size issue, I barely fit in a camper!

Ace,

I'm nearby in Glenwood Springs CO. Looking at the Escape Website made me wonder if perhaps you'd neglected to mention some options. It looked like they very frequently included double-pane windows and extra insulation (for example). If you have some additional info like that it might help with the sale. PM me back your phone # - I have a few additional questions.

When I bought my trailer they just started doing the double layer insulation and I declined to be the "test bed". The winter windows where not offered then. PM sent on my number.

Spring will be here soon. Expecting more traffic on this terrific trailer.

Ace is currently in the back country around Moab, I believe he will be in Moab Wed. and might have the ability to respond to this thread. I will be catching up to him Fri. eve and will let him know he has people asking questions about the trailer.

Do you know what the turning radius is on this and what type of clearance it has? Tanks for the link!

Turning radius depends on tow vehicle, not trailer. But if your referring to clearance when jackknifed it is very good. Nothing projects beyond the A-frame.
