Quick question, does anyone know if a SD roof rack for a disco 2 will fit a disco 1? I did a long search and couldn't find anything. Thanks everyone:elkgrin:

As notes, yes- it does. I have a dII on my dI like you. I like the "hand holds" on the back but I get a lot of light on the dash from the Hellas up top. I'm assuming this would not be the case when properly fitted. Either way, I'm going to fab up some extensions to move the mounting points back in hopes of reducing the glare/light in the dash.

That's no problem Tom. I'll be running LEDs up top. I have 4 on my arb bumper and will hopefully will get 4 more up top or a light bar. A hood blackout is a big help with this problem. As soon as I get my lights up top I'll be able to help you out a lot more.

I made a couple of extensions for the outer Hella 550's
Brought the lights back about 4"
Right now they are fab'd to just press the roofline and I have a small piece of rubber as a footing.
The thinking is that it would create a more solid 2-point mount preventing additional "shutter" by being suspended at the end of a length of steel...
Is there a potential rubbing issue with this? The rack seems sturdy etc... do think there is much flex... Thoughts...?

I have two 7 inch HID's on the outside mounts of my rack. I don't get any problems at all out of them. Of course it's hard for the light to reflect off my hood when it's covered in mud lol

Well at least this will be easy to spot in Huntsville...Hopefully I will be finding my way back up there with my D1.
