The Not-So-Expedition 1999 E250 Build?

Hello! I am new here and wanted to post my build of a 1999 F250 4x4,Diesel. She has 200,180 miles and is one hell of a truck. After a 3 days of training at the 2012 Overland Expo with my JK 4 door, I got the idea that my Ford mite be good for some offroading and seeing what is out their. The general plan,if their is one is to level the front with new springs (not like it needs it) maybe some bigger tires? New winch/bumper,yada,yada,yada. I will use photos more than right.
Here is what I will be working with and I will look for all your input! If things go well ,you can come see it a Overland Expo 2013?? My son and I will be their for the 3 days and be parked outback. Thanks,Randy

consider a new track bar with the lift and bigger tires in the future...

With this kit the need for a new track bar is not needed because of the lowering bracket for its mount. Have been thinking about 295/75r/16's.Hope to mount them on the Ford wheels? Think the wheels are 7"x 16"? Maybe to small for this tire ? Trying to keep from spending the cash for new wheels? :Wow1:

Oh ya!:sombrero: I looked at some of the Van's! Out of my range! :drool:
I was typing at night with no lights!:Wow1:

Started some planing for slide rails.With the long wheel base was think it mite be a good idea. Also working on some direct chassis ties for the slid-in. Don't want it to fall off on the driving course !:bike_rider: Will post some photos as I get started cutting steel.

Friday update. Put the truck up on jack stands to change the shocks and take a look at poor parking brake problem, so pulled the wheels and found________ driver side ,rear seal leaking. This led to a new tool to pull the rear hubs. Bummer,but good to know. Shocks installed and will do the brakes on Saterday.







The shocks took about 10 min. I spent the rest of the day working on the stuff I didn't know adout !:Wow1:

Good day today. Brakes replaced,seals replaced, front shocks and stablizer installed.

So thinking about the front bumper build. Can some one point me to what a HiLift jack, pickup point looks like? Would like to make it a part of the bumpers ?

Was thinking about cutting in a hole/slot in the bumper? Maybe a 1 1/2" wide ,3" tall and 2" deep. Then weld in a 1/4" x 1 1/2" x 3" x 2" tube. Body of the bumper is going to be 3/16" plate. Was thinking that the slots could be on the outside of the frame mounts? Bumper will have all the normal stuff,tow points,hitch socket,winch,driving lights.guards. Is their anything missing?

The lower the better. I always just stick the high lift under the bumper, I was thinking of welding some 1/4" ridges under the bumper to help it from slipping side to side. If you ever have to jack it up out of ruts and tip it i dont think you will want the jack stuck in the bumper.

Started work on the front end. Need Joints, upper and lower and a axle hub on the right along with some seals.:Wow1:

Need some help with adding a locking diff? Do I need it? Its just a stock open diff now. Rear is a LSD. Have been doing some reading and it looks like the ECTED Max - Locker,by Aubern may be the way to go? In the off position its a LSD. Hit the button and it locks. Cool!:drool:



I think I know the answer but would love some input? Where am I going? Don't know but would not like to get stuck!
So,give me your ideas! Please!:smiley_drive:

Some of the jeep forums say you can slip that thing in locked mode.
