Hello to everyone!

My name is Victor and Im preparing a big trip on my F250 powerstroke powered by WVO and a pop up camper.
This is my first camper, so Im in the process of learning.

Next days Im going to put the camper on the truck, and hopefully don not move it on a year, so I want to know what is the best in order to have the best and safest setup
1. keep the wood and aluminium bed.
1. Remove the wood , keep the aluminum
2. Remove everything

I attaching a picture in order to make this more clear

Thanks for any advice!
And yes.. Im going to remove the box and the spare tire! :bike_rider:

Is that bed entirely custom or is there a stock bed under the aluminum and wood? What does it look like from the outside?

You could go a number of routes. Certainly use measurements from camper examples to help you decide if you have clearance between and above the fenderwells and over the cab. Then you can figure out if you need extra width between the fenders or extra height in the bed and go from there. For weight savings, I would try not to carry extraneous material. If there's a sturdy enough bed underneath and the clearances are satisfactory, you could remove the wood and aluminum...

If you remove the bed sides (the aluminum), assuming there's not a stock bed under there, you have the option of using some storage boxes under the sides of the camper like most of the truck camper on flat-bed configurations.

Hi Tanglefoot, and thanks for your reply.
well I have no idea what is under that wood. I assume there is nothing but the original bed.
I put the camper yesterday over the wood and the aluminium, Its working good, and Im going to test how it works. If its good Ill keep it, otherwise I remove it.

Thanks again.
