There are 3 ways to find info there... the FAQ thread at the top, the forum search, or the built in google search. I dont usually have issues finding things. How do you do your info searches?

Unfortunately there isnt as much Gen 3 info though so it may be a bit tougher for some.

If you folks that don't like the way the wire is formated why not post you concerns over there? The missing pictures are missing because the OP lost them.

I have yet viewed a forum where I did'nt like something about it, including this one. Click on a post with many replies and where does it take you, to the first.

Another thing, you complain about pictures, but when you post one you load it up with your crap. What's with that?

Or, we can do like we are doing now and complain about it, not use it, and carry on. Its just a poorly executed forum. Who gives a flying fornication?

Just can't agree with you is all.

ExPo and the 'Wire both have 'issues' IMHO.

One thing that bugs the heck out of me with the ExPo is how on the main Mitsu forum page the Poster's ID is right next to the thread name. I can no longer count the number of time's I've clicked on the thread only to select the poster profile instead. Talk about annoying.

FAQ post? Yeah, this forum needs one and I assume it's something the mods can do but nothings there yet.

Again, the amount of info here is still VERY limited IMHO.

Pro's on this forum? Picture posting mechanism & ability to easily quote text from multiple posts is nice.

Otherwise the two forums although different in execution are fundamentally the same IMHO.

Sorry about hijacking your thread Nathan. :)

Mike,

You can go to the latest post when a new post is added by clicking on the new post shortcut (circled in red below)...

One thing to notice though is how close it is to RonaldH's name. On my iPad, & Android phone, I frequently end up going to the poster's profile because I accidentally clicked on their name due to it's closeness to the new post link. That should be changed! Poor interface design IMHO but like I said, these forums all have their faults.

going back to suspension.

Nathan, tell me more about these Peddar's springs. How did you like them on your LR3? Any idea how much they cost for monteros?

To answer this question, you need to know a bit about my old LR3. It was a very rare model here in the States, as it did not have the standard air suspension but came with coils instead. In reality, while more durable, it did not provide the normal LR3's advantages in articulation and selectable ride height, and, it was a constant spring rate so it suffered from load weight issues similar to what Scott has suffered in his Monty. I wanted to increase the lift height of my LR3, and the only way to do that was with taller springs. The Peddars springs provided a 40mm lift, and kept the same OEM spring rate so it felt terrific in most conditions. Then I started using my LR3 in more aggressive routes, and swapped to 65mm springs from KingSprings. I got the lift increase I wanted, but the truck rode poorly, because the "specially tuned" 65mm springs where quite a bit stiffer than the stock rate, and overdrove the shocks. Over a few short years of use, the Kings settled/sagged quite a bit, and I did not have that issue with the Peddars. That is my experience with Peddars. Well, also the fact that I was the ONLY person in American running them, they gave me excellent service, shipped to my door for free (from Australia) and followed up on my opinions on the springs over the time I had them.

I have sent an email to PeddarsUSA to find out about pricing and availability of the Montero kit, and will post what I learn here.

Just FYI, they have two versions, the regular sliders and their supersliders. The ones in the pics are supersliders which have the outside round tube attached to the main square tube. The standard ones only have the square tube which doesn't offer the nicer look or the additional protection.

As for powder coating, they just come that way and the coating lasts several years (from others that have had them), of course, requiring touch up on the bottom where they take the most beating. I'll probably go with herculiner or line-x or even epoxy paint when mine require repainting.

Russell, I emailed them about getting the sliders without powder coating, and they said sure, but it wouldn't save me much, maybe $5 in materials and an hour in labor. They do all their own powder coating in-house, so NOT powdercoating them would be abnormal and require special handling. I think that's really cool that they do their own coatings in-house. That is really rare for a lot of steel fab shops that cater to this hobby.

Michael, thanks for also pointing out that they offer decent pricing on the ARB OME suspension kits. RockyRoad seems like a good shop.

I believe the Mitsu springs are progressive rate (not constant rate) but I suspect Scott's failure is simply a combination of their age and the vehicle's weight when full of gear. Also in my searches, I've found pretty much all the other aftermarket springs available for Montero's have been constant rate springs. I wonder how well a set of airbags will work when coupled with a pair of new rear coils and heavier duty front torsion bars.

I'll also try & ring them directly in Australia. My client base are all down under so it's no biggie for me to call there to find out.
