I took it for a drive and its definitely not fast but had decent power and would get to 70 without to much effort. The truck drives great and only has 19k on it while priced at $21900 which is the best deal I have found. I may not keep it forever but it will be fun and economical for the next few years. I drove it with the A/C on as well which would just kill a 4cyl S-10 I had in the past and it seemed to do fine. I am going to think about it for a few days before I make a final decision. Thanks for all the input guys!!

The 2.7 in newer Tacoma's seems to be pretty potent little motor, I was riding around in a good friends ext cab with a 2.7 and 5 speed and was most impressed. To be clear I wasn't driving but we had 4 people packed into that truck and it was loaded with mountain bikes, gear, and a heavy fiberglass cap, the truck seemed to have no issues at all moving us around, and if I remember correctly he has duratracs that are a size or two larger than stock.

Good on you for going and driving the truck so you can experience it first hand vs listening to people who may or may not have ever driven the truck.

Best deal you've found?? ******

You do know that MSRP on a brand new 2013 is only $23,465.......right!?

That's BEFORE any negotiating or incentives (rebates, etc)

$1500 less for 19K miles?

It may be a fair price depending on how that particular example is outfitted and what its original selling price was, but it's true that the brand new reg-cab 4wds start at barely more than that amount. Whether or not they can be found on the dealer lot in base trim is another story.

There are no options available on Reg Cab 4x4s....they all come one way, plus small accessories

There are 57 new 2013 Tacoma Reg Cab 2.7L Auto 4x4s within 75 miles of Rio Rancho, NM......with MSRPs from $23,430 to $24K

i'd avoid that used deal, call / email every fleet dept and let them know you're serious. Some will deal, some won't. Don't buy the extra warranty unless it's under 900 bucks. you can get one of those from Troy or the couple of other forum guys that'll sell them at cost plus peanuts if that's your thing. You'll find a new one for less than that and with a better rate if financing. Also, the 2.7 5sp, while not a race winner is a hugely solid engine with tons of tried and true history behind it. The manual 4x will have 410's and will push 265.75.16's fine. If you go to 235.85 it'll feel like you added hp. For that price i'd buy new. good luck and post what you get / find.

the standard 4x should have 245/75
