WD22 extended range fuel tank

Does anyone know if the D22 Navara/frontier gas tank will fit a wd22 Xterra? Ive been looking at a few places that have the D22 extended range tank.

I'm curious about this too. A grand is a tough pill to swallow, but if I'm reading that right - 145L / 38 gallons? Not bad.

Likewise, I'm very interested for my R50. I wonder though if you're trying to fit a Frontier tank in, wouldn't the wheelbase difference be an issue?

I too would be interested. There is a large area under the truck where a larger tank would fit, 75 L is way too small for me. 100 L plus would be better.

I'm not so sure. I believe the long range tank extends into the area where the spare tire hangs out. So, you'd have to relocate that. Also, there's quite a size difference. The Xterra is 22 inches shorter than a CC/SB Fronty, has a smaller rear overhang, and a wheelbase that's shorter by a foot. So that area where the tank is supposed to fill might be drastically different. I'd have to get under both to see. Maybe I'll find an Xterra whose skirt I can look up and take some measurements.

So I love crunching numbers.

For me Gas is around $3.749 in the big village of Anchorage, and gas down on the Kenai was around $4.349 or +$.60x17gal=$10.20 more per tank. So I was thinking how many tanks of Kenai gas till I pay one of these off?
$1000AUS +shipping to AK total may be around $1700. /$10.20= 166.6 tanks of Kenai Gas if they stay $.60+ more than Anchorage.

166 tanks x 275 miles per tank would be 45,833 miles of driving.
I wish they had them at least in North America, I love the idea. Heck I just dropped that much or more on 9 pairs of tires.

I'd love having a bigger tank. Currently my main trail buddy has a longer range than I do, and he's got a lifted Durango with a 360! I've looked at the Aussie-made tanks, but they're expensive and I'm sure shipping would be atrocious. Now I'm looking for a guy in town who can weld aluminum so I can have one made. I don't really want as much capacity as the buyable stuff. That extra 18 gallons is an extra 108 pounds and my truck already sits 1/2" lower at the passenger side rear tire. I don't need it down a full inch!

Haha so I'm aiming for 26-28 gallons. That would give me about a 390-420 mile range (mixed driving) and only weigh a little more. Of course, going from a plastic to an aluminum tank would add to it too, but hopefully not way too much.

Yes it is an expensive hobby indeed. Had her since mile 7 and 10 years later, shes still evolving. No kids = splurge every once in a while. I expect to keep her until she gives up the ghost, htne maybe Jiro will be ready to sell his so i can steal his engine. :-D

See what kills me about all this is my ram has a factory upgrade available- I have 25gal now and can get up to 36, with all mounting hardware and no custom modification needed since it's Mopar.... Wish Nissan did the same.

I run the 2x Jerry can for long trips and can get most places and back up here. A long range would be nice if I made the trip through BC (bring cash) Canada more often. :26_7_2:

I've considered perhaps a race fuel cell stashed where my spare tire once was. In the end Jerry cans were easier. Its a shame sheet metal isn't easier to weld.
