I hvebeen using a press for many years and have several of the models mentioned above.For camping, this is the only one I take any longer. It is perfect.

I admire those using a french press, as I use to do that myself. It's living big in the woods! But I've been trying to make cooking (and cleaning) as easy as possible while camping, so I too have gone to the Starbucks instant coffee. It's not as good, but with half-and-half it's good enough. That way there is no press or coffee grounds to clean up.

I use a hand grinder and aeropress while camping. This with fresh roasted coffee makes a great cup at the campsite.

What type of grinder is do you use?

x2 ... I french press it but would also like to start grinding the beans fresh as well.

A Hario Slim. Works great. You can adjust the grind from fine to coarse.
