Great job on the pics and words! I thought I recognized your truck in the TT mag. If TT would expand features, like what you did here, I think they would go far to expanding their readership. Thanks for taking the time to share your amazing, and responsible, adventure!

Well, there are limiting factors with TT in terms of cost and the size of the article. The article about this trip in Toyota Trails (very well written by Dave Connors) was quite long in the final print version and that was after some SERIOUS cutting of material to make it a reasonable length for the magazine. If more of the "features" or details were included it would take up the entire magazine and leave no room for any other content. I personally think the variety of content is what maintains a respectable readership. If it became more monopolized by one particular feature it could alienate a large portion of the readership. Just my opinion, but thanks for the kind words.

The nice thing is that the print version can hit the highlights, and details can get filled in through online trip reports like this.

Thank you for the write up and for sharing the awesome pictures!
2 co-workers and I just returned from a week on White Rim in Canyonlands, we are now officially hooked on adventures in Utah.
Cheers!

It is easy to get hooked on the Utah desert. I'm headed back out into the San Rafael Swell again this weekend with our local club. So looking forward to it. *hope the rain today lets up so there's no mud on any of the roads, otherwise I might have to turn back.* ;)

I'm sure you will find a quagmire somewhere even if you have to "change your plans" and home in. Nice that you have a mud colored truck. Enjoy the Swell. Great place.

Where are you guys going? Are you doing a Friday / Saturday thing?

I'll sure you'll point out every little misstep.
The only issues I had of your adventure was of the wet quagmired dirt roads deeply torn up not of the adventure itself or wet 4x4 trails traveled or where you camped. A great adventure overall. Hopefully your Reef/Swell adventure coming up will be terrific.

you clearly made your point, which was responded to by several well respected overlanders who were actually on the trip and know that no damage was done.
