Camel Trophy for Sale.

Well ladies and gents, my run with this truck may have probably come to an end. Between snowboarding, working on cars, and doing a lot of heavy lifting for work, this past winter, I somehow screwed up my lower back/spine/nerves. I cannot lift heavy things, including wrenching on my own cars for a good while. I might have to get surgery/lots physical therapy and this is going to cost me an arm and a leg to afford. Not to mention, i am going to school for engineering soon. So, to be on the safe side, I am going to sell the camel trophy. I don't want to sell it. But I have to, just for my health and financial safety.

A LOT of people have come out of the woodwork and made me offers, since the beginning....So, I have an idea of what it is worth. But, I want everyone to have a chance to bid on owning it and not feel like I left them out/sold it out from under them. So I will be posting it on ebay. I will have a reserve set close to the highest I've been (Privately) offered. If you are looking for a used off-road vehicle for super cheap, I would not recommend this one. But I wish you could have a good truck like this for cheap. I can find you a cheap good disco, if that is the case. (I am pretty good at it).

Yes it is damaged and will need work. But everything works(except the windshield wipers due to a broken switch handle) and it has very low(but brutal) miles but everything seems to be in great working order/maintenanced. Not to mention, it is the Only Team USA winning disco/vehicle AND is a Camel Trophy that is located IN the United States.

Thanks for giving me information and opinions on this vehicle. Also, selling me the hard to find parts. It has been much appreciated and I will not forget the history I dragged out of the desert.

Very Interesting. I can tell you a few things about all parties involved. Michael, Tim, Tom and Webb are still friends. My name is Dave Simpson and together with Mack Barber we represented the US in Camel Trophy in 1994. I know these vehicles very well including this one! I would love to have her and restore it back to the original condition. Have you sold it yet? I have a SuperWinch that was the winch if you are interested.

An honor to speak with you. :)
I know the camel trophy crowd is very close knit and I'm aware of their connection.

The vehicle is still for sale. :)
The link above will get you to the auction.

As for the winch, I have stopped purchasing items for the vehicle at this time, due to it being up for sale. Thank you very much for the offer, though. :)

All good I really didn't want to sell the winch just offering

Camel Trophy was a life changing event for all of us. We are much better people from the experience. 1994 was in South America and a lot of dry desert which Im used to from racing in Baja. After Camel I got to go to Morocco and a Warn winch event. Yet another great adventure.

Good luck on the sale

Very interesting story on the underhanded tactics used to "steal" this vehicle from its owner... Webb Arnold.. This truck was sold out from underneath him by his brother??... And the new owner knew full well he was screwing him out of it... I feel sorry for Webb..

Didn't Webb abandon the vehicle? You his brother or something?

Abandon is the word that is being tossed around to make it seem like he didn't want it any more... He no more abandoned the vehicle than you or I do when we park the car somewhere for an extended period..I have a bunch of motorcycles in storage... It doesn't mean that I have abandoned them... He parked it in his brothers yard, and I guess it was then a ****ty act by I guess his brother or some other third party to sell the vehicle without the owners knowledge... All this guy wanted was to get his car back... He unfortunately went about it the wrong way, for whatever reasons..

Abandonment is not how someone feels towards something, it's a legal term. I'm not sure why you're trying to smear this seller on every internet message board but it's really uncalled for. He legally owns it as deemed by the state of Colorado. End of story. If you don't like the legal system in the United States head back down under

One thing I have learned about being here is that I can express my opinions.. I am not smearing his name... I'm objecting to his actions.. "Legally" OJ didn't slice his wife's throat open, everybody knows he did...... And if you think the judicial system in this country isn't flawed then you must be in a very lonely group.. And there are only 2 reasons I have raised opinions about what is going on here...1.. I believe this is far from over as to the validity of this transaction and I want to make sure that a potential buyer is aware of the background of it so that they go into it with eyes wide open...2.. I think that the original owner of this truck is the victim.. Not the purchaser.. And I will continue to do what I can to try and aid the victim (Webb) in getting his truck back..

All this guy wanted was to get his car back...

It was his vehicle at one time, but it wasn't any more. As I recall, the OP bought it believing it to be a replica and later found out that it wasn't. Kind of like those folks who buy paintings at yard sales and they turn out to be worth a million dollars.

I don't understand the personal enmity you have for the OP here, and quite frankly am surprised that Expo leaves these posts up.
