Torn between Southeast Overland and Terrawagon.

Terrawagon looks nicely made with a black sheath and cleaner knot. Not sure that matters.

I went with Southeast Overland and 3/8" after talking with Steve. Great to work with and the sleeve is now black!

I ordered some bulk amsteel and made a couple of my own. i did two different styles, one without one line buried inside the other, and one with. i sure see why people are charging what they are for them, the online calculator i used said i needed 77 inches of line for the larger one, which is 16 inches loop to knot, which lets it go around something up to about 4.5"

there are a few places online that show you the step by step of how to tie the diamond knot, once you get the hang of it, it's not too hard. most of the youtube videos are crap, as their hands get in the way and they just breeze through the complicated part.

I think that is what most people don't realize. It actually takes quite a bit of line. Especially the knot.

yep, in the 3/8" line, the knot needs about 10 inches of line on both pieces, so 20 inches is in the knot alone. so 6 1/2 feet of line, plus if you add chafe guard on the shackle, plus normal 100% markup from wholesale to retail and you can see how bubbarope gets to their $65-70 pricepoint.
