Mexico bound! Chasing Pro UTV #1908 @ BAJA 500 in a GMC HD Duramax & Ford Super Duty

Some of you may fully know what the Baja 500 race is all about but others don't. Either way I am pretty excited to be the pilot of Cognito Chase #2 truck that is a 2015 GMC Duramax outfitted with some nice suspension upgrades!

Here is this year's 2015 SCORE race course that both Cognito Chase #1 (Ford F350) & Chase #2 will be navigating to follow the Pro UTV 1900 class:

Cognito Motorsports Chase #2 truck

Running a Cognito 4" NTBD system that includes, UCA's, Pitman & Idler braces, Fox Performance Series Res shocks front and back. For rear lift, there is a Deaver Mini Pack installed along with an Auto Leveling helper bag kit.

For wheels and tires the team is backed by Method wheels & Toyo Tires.

The 1900 Class consists of only UTV's in which Cognito runs a Polaris 1000 XP4 car that has been redesigned around the BITD & SCORE rules into a purpose built 2 seat long travel machine.

Chase #1 truck is a Ford Super Duty running 35's and set up on a Cognito 4" Radius Arm System with Fox Performance Series shocks.

On the trailer is a Polaris 1000 XP4 that is also set up with Cognito Long Travel suspension and other CMS upgrades, this is set up to per-run the course. This rig hit the road for Mexico earlier in the week.

I hit the road in Chase truck #2 in the morning and once on the road will be limited for internet but I plan on taking a ton of pics and posting.

Stay tuned!

I have a blast chasing the Vintage stuff in the Mexican 1000
Enough so that I posted on Race Dezert in the Vintage group if anyone needs chase for Vegas to Reno.

Glad you are going as I love Baja and always happy to see anyone else enjoy it also.

Well we all made it back in good shape other than the race car. It will be a couple days to get settled back in on regular work stuff and filter through all the photo's and video and start editing so hang in there for post race pics!

All is well, Herrera was driving and went to tap the car ahead. The car ahead checked up. The result was a hard hit. Apology already accepted by the nurfee.

That's good, it is always better to have a successful little nerf than a slam bang that damages cars and hurts feelings.
Racing those cars amongst all the bigger stuff on the course has to be nerve wracking or would be to me, my hats off to you that do it.

I wasn't there shooting, just writing the story. I heard you guys hurt some feelings, lol.

What car # are you referring to? I have been filtering through all the gopro footage and Victor was on the hammer in the car. I see one of the love taps on car #1952, was that the car you are talking about?

It was the race winner, 1971 Matlock. Somewhere between rm 100-150. He had passed you guys and then caught a slower car. He slowed and Herrera didn't lol. Like I said, Herrera apologized. classy move on his part. All is good.
