Lantern or Rope light AKA How do I illuminate the canopy?

Im trying to find the best way to give my canopy some ambient lighting and useable lighting.

I usually use a led lantern that I have and it works okay but it always seems we are readjusting to see what we are working on.
I thought about running some rope lights around the fringe or up thru the top but I'm not sure how to power these? run off the vehicle maybe?

Or get more lanterns and hang them in each corner?

or is there a better way?

12v led strips or the large roll. run it around the inside top and it will light up the whole thing.

I use LED string lights from ENO and just string them up inside the canopy. I also have a string of coleman lantern LED lights, which are surprisingly bright.

Yep. I have several of these strips that I use all the time. They are friggin' awesome.

There's a dimmer unit available for them too that looks like it may be decent (uses a PWM frequency high enough it shouldn't create a noticeable flicker). I already had a small DC-DC adjustable buck converter on hand though, so I just use that for mine. It's powered from the vehicle.

I also have an Eno led string as well as a Big Agnes Mtn Glo led string light. The Eno one is blue and green lights and the other is just white. Not a bad amount of light for just AA batteries.

I wanted some lite a life lights from Goal Zero but it looks like they are no longer available and are coming out with a redesign.

The Goal Zero Light A Life .v2 lamps are out now.
They're brighter, smaller, and apparently have a longer bulb life than the .v1 lights ... with a price that's the same as the original.

I've got three of the originals, and while they're excellent ... they're also big, and take up quite a lot of space when packing.

The new version of the Light A Life looks like a winner, as it's collapsable - and useable in two different manners, as a flood and as a spot depending on how you deploy the light for use.

Thanks. I will see if I can track some down.
