Best place to get a new motor 94' LS 3.0 L

Hello all was wondering if anyone has advice on a good shop that sells rebuilt motors (94' LS 3.0 Liter) with good seals and such. Just inherited the car I learned to drive with from my mother when she passed and am looking to drive it for another 20 years. Would like a long block with new pumps etc. If possible. Thank you.

Why not pull the motor that's in it and have it rebuilt, instead of buying one? It's about the same amount of work plus I think it should be cheaper as all you would be paying for is the labor.

Got it. Yeah if downtime is an issue then I see where you are coming from. I did mine two years ago and it was out of service for two weeks I think. I took my time and my truck isn't my only transportation. I think the builder had my engine for 5-6 days or so, plus my time pulling and reinstalling.

The mass rebuilders like Jasper and such are crap. Most auto parts stores can sell rebuilds with warranties. Your best bet would be to buy a scrapyard motor and have it rebuilt be a reputable builder near you.

That is probably the direction I am going to take, going to buy a used Montero of the same year and model so I can do just that. Thank you gentlemen.

So I can take things out, rebuild or clean them, and avoid as much down time in the one i drive daily I guess.

If this Montero was not the car I learned to drive on I would probably just by a newer one, an RS, but its the one thing I inherited from her when she passed that I love and want to keep it. Evan if everything eventually gets replaced. Crazy I know.
