2012 JKU Towing issue

A few weeks ago I was towing a empty small 4x6 trailer up a small hill. My jeep started sputtering and lost most power, I pulled over checked around not sure what I was looking for, but everything seemed fine. Got back in an drove a little more didnt do it again. Havent towed anything since. I have to tow a bigger trailer today and am a little nervous this may happen again, I have a lot of hills to climb.
Should I turn off traction control? Could this have been the problem?
Has anyone else had this problem?

Whatever it is, it's nothing to do with the trailer.

It's weird, that is the only time its ever done it. Guess I will find out today, pulling the bigger trailer.

Chrysler started installing an AUX cooler for the new auto tranny(front of the radiator) and I'm assuming you have an AUTO-

Maybe you haven't got the AUX cooler and the 3.6L is shifting toward "Limp Mode", or you're getting "TQ Shudder"-

check engine light should have come on and given a code for the issue.
