Hello there.

I am posting this on behalf of my father. He purchased this to turn into a 3/4 season camper. He lost steam on the build mostly because the cab doesn't have a cutaway into the rear. The rear box is all aluminum and is completely stripped for you to start fresh with your own ideas.

He also has many parts from a donor travel trailer that he is willing to throw in as well as all the interior cabinets and what not we room out of the rear of the ambulance.

Some quick info it has sat for a year without running but we are sure with a new battery it will fire right up it is a Chevy 454 in it.

Thank you. Is the truck in Temperance or is that where you live only? I'm in Detroit by U of D. 7/Woodward. Let me know what you find out. I'm thinking its a 700r4 and np208 just want to make sure. Thank you.

Just asked him it was an old military ambulance that a local fire crew used as there bush ambulance to get to people in the sticks. Has 40,XXX and is a an 85. I'll try and get you the specifics of the tranny and transfer case by tomorrow.

Ahhh. This is what I was getting after. So is it a 1028 that got a 454 put in it? That would mean it has a np205 full time 4wd and a rear locker and front tru trac. So I am even more interested. Let me know.

Forgive me I am unaware of how to tell the model of the trans it is automatic though. What should I look for to confirm what it is for you? And yes it is in Temperance.

First let's establish was it truly a military truck or not? I don't think it was. It's not a m1010 ambulance. It could be a m1028 truck that had the diesel removed and the box added. I just think it's a regular 85 Chevy c30 with a 454. So if it's an 85 and stock it has a Turbo 400 3sp. If it was actually a military truck it could have newer 700r4 added in the swap. You can see if it's a 3 or 4 spd is one way to tell. I'm interested in it even with no motor. I want the box to make a trailer because it doesn't have a cut through. Then I will make a flat bed for the truck and put my dirt bike on it and tow the box as a trailer. I just bought 20ac in Baldwin. Need a camping rig. So at this point we just need to set up me checking it out. I'll email you my contact info.

Sorry we just for our foster kids back after only being gone for 2 months, and my wife was on vacation when it happened. I have been busy being a mister mom. I will get the dimensions for yoy and see if my dad has a charged battery. Thanks for your patience.

12x9x6 is the exterior, and interior is the same minus the cut outs for tool trays with access front the outside. One is 3x2x2 and one is 9x2x2 (it was
the base of the cabinets) and another one 5x2x1 (another bench like).

Still haven't started it yet, hopefully soon.
