1993 sr or 1998

Greetings to all, I am currently trying to decide between these two. I understand that there are variables on conditions. the 93 has 114k, interior is really worn out seats are torn and there is no 3rd row seat not sure why or if it was an option then the engine was done there is paper work have not seen it yet. The 98 has 290k the interior is better it has the third row seating, somewhat important for me. the vehicle would be a occasional d/d when it rains and camping rig. I've owned Toyota 4x4 trucks, jeep cj7, Toyota fj45 and 100. I am use to doing my own maintenance. however I would like advise from those that have had real life dealings with these vehicles to help me decide. Also I believe that the difference between them is +-500.00 in acquisition, the 98 being more. my regards to all and appreciate what ever assistance I can get. thanks. sorry fellow these are Monteros.

1998 = High Miles and needs gearing change

why does it need a gearing change? who knows maybe he'll run a stock tire size and the 427s will be sufficient

man that is definitely alot of mileage, that 98 is pushing towards the end of its life. Honestly i dont like either option presented

290K - I'd avoid

Plus side to the '93 SR is it will has 4.9 (4.875) gearing. Minus side - no rear locker

I have a very nice (new) grey leather interior available.

Great imput. The 93 has a locker. Button situated next to the lighter. How slow is it really. I've heard all most 10 sec. 0 to 60. Will it go 70 mph long distances.??

Cool! - I have no issues keeping up with highway traffic (posted 70mph here) with my '93 SR turning 33" tires. 10 sec. 0 to 60 - yea I don't know - never even thought of timing a 4x4. It gets out of its own way well enough. Its actually my favorite one of the 4 I own to drive. If you want speed - get a car.
