I am selling my 1990 4Runner, I have had it for about 5 years but I just came across an 84 pickup that I would like to continue to build. This 4Runner is/ was my camping beater, winter vehicle, trash hauler etc. It is not pretty but gets the job done. Rear window rolls down with the button and the key, these are usually broken on 2nd gens.
$1500 OBO price drop
Located in Winchester, VA.
Modifications include:
4.88 gears with a truetrac installed in the rear
33 10.50 15 BFG AT with about 50% tread on SR5 wheels and a full new spare
Full OME suspension including torsion bars
Custom rear bumper with tow loops
Rock sliders welded on
CB radio
New stuff:
Recently rebuilt steering pump and gear
New front CVs
Newer muffler although the salt around here gets to stuff pretty quick
Headgaskets done at 180k, does not smoke and always starts right up
New fuel sender bracket and feed lines
Newer upper idler/ tensioner for t belt
Knock sensor has been replaced (PITA)
Needs:
Front bumper (pulled my ARB off)
Oil cooler sealed (easy)
Valve cover Gaskets
Will need another timing belt soon (actually pretty easy on these 3VZEs)
Rear pinion seal again
Radio
Rust:
Yes.... Structural you say? Nah.
Ugly:
There really isn't a straight panel on this thing, paint is dead and there are dents everywhere. Pinstriping is proudly worn everywhere like a fine suit.
Not working:
AC is the only thing that doesn't work, I put new lines on it a while back but I think the compressor is shot.
Summary: A great winter beater or SAS candidate or just do like I did and 4 wheel it as is and have a lot of fun. Never needs washed or vacuumed.
Below is a pic on my trailer after the fuel line burst, it is now fixed and no longer needs to be trailered. I am not sure what happened to my other pics, I will post more this evening.
