Autohome no customer service

Is anyone else being ignored by Autohome when they try to contact them ? It seems they will take money for a tent and then they wash their hands of the customer.

I've given up now after a year of trying to get any sort of response from them.

Just spoke to Andrew at Autohome yesterday. I haven't given them my money yet - hopefully your situation will change and they'll get back to you. Curious what other folks experience has been before I buy. Sounds like they put in orders every eight weeks or so with 8 week wait time for delivery.

This is not the first time I've had an issue with them The last time it required a massive Internet shaming campaign to get then to respond. Many other people chimed in finding out they were not alone in their frustration.

Maybe ask Andrew about what kind of customer service he plans on providing. Ha ha

you and I corresponded here about your Overcamp - which is what I was contacting Autohome about - have you had issues with the Overcamp or is this a new order? Disheartening news as this product seems perfect for what I'm looking for.

There is a plastic fitting on each side of tent for the poles that hold the fly up. I had one break the first time I used the tent when the wind grabbed the fly. I asked Andrew about getting a replacement well over a year ago Nothing.

I asked about getting the awning and he sends me a Overcamp annex (no charge) but no poles . Worthless.

I spoke to the owner of another RTT company and he was amazed Autohome was still in business because they are know for their no existent customer service and take the money and run business model.

If someone else made an Over Camp type tent I would never deal with AutoHome again.

Give them a call to get them to answer your questions. I called them once and asked them send me schematics on their tent to see where the mounting rails are located so I can see if it would work with my rack. They did send me the drawings.

I recently rented a medium airtop. My main concern was if I fit in one being 6'1". I fit fine in the airtop. I'm 75% purchasing one. The hard part now is choosing an AitTop or Extreme Model.

I've called and e-mailed for over a year. I just gave up and recently used my tent and I could not put the fly out. Just pissed me off again about their disinterest in their customers.

The only tent then have that is unique is the Over Camp otherwise there are much better RTT companies.

We deal with Autohome as a vendor, no issues at all with the product or the service. As Clint, our shop manager, says "There are three sides to every story".

Hope your issue is resolved quickly.

So, Autohome deserves a public shaming because they will not supply you with a $.25 part?

I had an OverCamp about 20 years ago and remember it being pretty rugged except for the part you are talking about. If I remember right, everything is designed to be repaired in the field ... anywhere, an expedition tent. There are least three work arounds that I know of. First, the eyelet should be an industry standard eyelet, so I would recommend going to a marine supply store like West Marine and bring along with the remnants of yours to matching up a replacement. Second workaround, the eyelet is pretty useless so I just drilled holes into the square steel support tubes behind the eyelets so the end of the awning supports fits snuggly, then the eyelet will just be a reinforcement. Third workaround, since the "awning" is really just the door, why not get a real awning for your OverCamp? Above your door is half a YKK #10 zipper sewn in so you can simply zip in your awning. If you can't get a zipper or awning from AutoHome, then go to an awning maker, supply store or sailmaker and show them the zipper above the door and they will make you whatever you want. You then set up the tent and zip in your awning or tent, it really is a very clever way to mount an accessory structure.

You are right about AutoHome in North America, they appear to only support their North American tents. It is a mystery to me why they don't bring in the fabric tents, Their Air Camping tent was an industry standard since the 50's. Might be wise to contact AutoHome in Italy for replacement parts if you need something special. They were nice enough to send me some parts in the Netherlands when I damaged my tent there.

I want to comment , but all I can say is .25 piece or $500 piece the company should at least respond. And the fact they respond well to AT Overland but not the one time one sell guy isn't very good, if that's what is happening here. But as I like everyone I have met at AT and quite frankly Clint is by far there greatest asset! I will defer to his " there's three sides to every story. But since we have heard one side, and the other side seems to not be talking .....I put my faith in the member having the problem.

I can say that I've had nothing but fantastic customer service from Autohome US. I do know that they're busy folks, probably doubly so with the run up to Overland Expo, but I've never had any serious issues getting in contact with them. Are you using phone, email, or what? I've had good luck with both, but phone works best if you can be persistent. (They forward the phone to mobiles, and will answer when they're in-service.)

I have contacted Autohome in Italy via their contact page and by e-mail. No reponse.

As for being busy for EXPO , they have the smallest and least elaborate display I've seen in the past.

Good suggestions on going to West Marine and a sail maker. I however, live in the desert where there little demand for marine and seafaring equipment.

I will look into your other options for the pole. Thanks
