New(ish) Member Intro

Hey folks! Just a quick intro.... I'm Chris from New Mexico.

I drive a 2006 f250 6.0L diesel. It's pretty modified at 10 years old and 250k... I bought it brand new and it's been to hell and back several times.

I have been thinking about getting a sicko in the long bed version.but ilove my 89. that's a good looking rig. any problems with engine such as egr cooler are head gaskets ?

Yeah, the 6.0 can be problematic in several areas. Mines been bulletproofed on the EGR and oil coolers. I've also done; gaskets, ARP studs, injectors, BD Diesel FICM, a larger turbo, Bullydog tuner, air intake, mandrel bent high volume air intake and turbo tubes, external oil and transmission filters, Fass fuel pump... I've never had it dyno'd but it's pretty powerful. I've just upgraded things as they've gone out over the years.

Basically you need to be a shade tree mechanic hell bent on making your truck last as long as possible to own any diesel. It's totally a labor of love though.

I need to find some other Overlanders here in Kansas City that I can hang out with. They're all Jeep'ers though, and won't talk to me because I don't drive a jeep.
