What to do with a 95 D1?

I have a 95 D1 with a dropped sleeve and a fading paint job.

I go back and forth between wanting to just get it out of my driveway - and wanting to build it back up.

I have a full size (diesel) truck for overlanding.

Have also considered putting a Diesel engine in the disco.

I'm not super mechanically inclined. Nor do I have much time.

What would you do?

(As a side note - I'd likely trade this thing for a 12 pack of fat tire to anyone in Colorado that would do something with it.)

An engine swap is not all that difficult, but can be time consuming and costly pending your choice of motor. I have a 70k mile 3.9 from a '95 Defender (direct bolt in replacement, V belt or transfer over your ancillaries) if you are interested, more I may be interested in the Disco if you would pm me details.
Thanks

I have an Isuzu Trooper in my driveway that matches the same description.

The Rover V8 is an excellent engine to learn on - its pretty damned simple

I'd be up for the 3.9 swap if the money was right. Spend some time doing it and get it right
