quick question about the ADD bumpers

Toasty

Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...
They are made to order unless I make some extras when I have time, I did make one for PA_JERO with a 3" body lift. His was a full custom everything deal with sliders, rear bumper, front skid plate and recovery points.

Not to sidetrack this but if ADD builds a rear bumper for Gen 3 that would be cool!

Well my Gen 3 will get a rear bumper but we haven't even sold 1 Gen 3 skid plate yet, we'll see how it goes. Gen 3 bumpers are a pretty involved deal because of the monocoque frame so unless some demand shows up it would just be a labor of love (like most Montero stuff) and I'm only willing to love my own cars these days. ADD is two guys who have jobs, houses, families, personal vehicle collections so it makes it hard to throw our own money and time at someone else car. ADD is in it's early stages and maybe someday there will be capital laying around to fund big dollar things but for now it's kind of like the small things pay to R&D the big things and so on.

I really want to see it succeed and get the Montero thing really going but you gotta crawl before you can walk. Not sure if anyone remembers but I used to do a lot of the Montero group buys in years past and they usually resulted in me loosing money or donating a bunch of hours of my life. IncorporatedX has a much better business mind than I do so with his help it's made these things more available to you guys without being too much of an expense to us. That's kind of where we are at, so when Expedition Portal asked for their cut a while back I was like "sure I'd love to sponsor the forum!". Then I saw the amount, they wanted basically all the money we made last year. Someday...

Until then we can't advertise on the forum but I'll contribute my tech and post up some of the things I'm working on and if they'll allow it I'll give away some parts for people to test when I need help with that.

PA_JERO has a 3" body lift, ADD 2" suspension lift and 35's (probably going 37's if the 5.29 gears work) and he wanted a really low profile bumper for maximum clearance in front of the tires and behind the rears. If you've seen his truck in action you'll understand why, I won't be making another one like it.

He upgraded his winch to a synthetic line compatible unit and hawse fairlead, I set him up with a new front skid plate for maximum clearance as well.

Thanks for the reply regarding Gen 3 rear bumpers. I know it is mostly work and very little money when a company is new. Keep up the good work!

I have some cool ideas for Gen 3 fronts too, right now I'm limited by the tooling I currently own but I would love to build one with really soft lines, rolled edges and big extruded fog light holes like the Lancer Evo 4. I can do this kind of thing at my normal job but I'm not allowed, I wish I had access to the shop on the weekends but they say it would be bad publicity if we were found to be working on side projects on the weekends.

Who out there has custom rear bumpers? This is one item I have not seen too much of. Are there any good photos on the forum?
