1998 Mitsubishi Delica L400

Hi,

I would keep it forever and turn it into an extraordinary adventure can but I am moving to Quebec where the law for registering an RHD are different( in Quebec RHDs must be at least 25 y/o vs 15 in the rest of Canada to be registered). I had big plans for her to make it a great rig it has so much potential!!).

Second owner since coming to Canada I bought the van in Saskatchewan. All the modification were made to make it road ready in Canada by the previous owner. This is the winter model (Chamonix) with extra high roof and dual batteries. 2.8 turbo diesel engine. 4 wheel drive! Icy cold AC (front and rear). Good tires. Delicas are super reliable she has a 2-inch lift kit, dual battery, winter and summer tires on rims. In good condition well taken care of. Since they are quite popular in Canada the parts are easy to find they also share many parts with the Montero that was sold in North America. In addition, the Delica owner community is very helpful.

Known issues, the alternator is on his way out. It is still working but not 100% output so I can be an issue in the Canadian Winter when you do only small errands in town and its -40C the next morning... I have a new one and I was waiting for the weather to improve to change it.

It took me on plenty of road trip across the country from the Coastal Range of BC to Montana to Quebec city without an issue.

Sadly, it can't come to the states for another 5 years. I currently have a '92 & '93 L300 here in the States, & am storing a '94 L400 at a friends in Victoria, BC until it turns 25. 400's didn't start production until June '94, & US import laws go by month of production, not model year, so my wait is still well over a year off...

Yes I know It is the same problem in Quebec vs the rest of Canada. I figured that it might interest other fellow Canadian or someone who does not mind the wait. If i had the place to store it I would and take my time to work on it.
