I think I may get some heat on this video! Lol. So, as an Overlander, I LOVE my Chevy truck! I do! I think it’s a great Overland rig. But it’s the last Chevy I will own (unless something changes). For now on, it’s Toyota or Jeep. Watch what I think about Chevy now and tell me your opinion and if you agree or disagree. If you like the video, done forget to like and subscribe and thanks for supporting my channel!!! -Jay-

Sounds like trollbait trying to get hits on a youtube channel that no one is watching, not gonna fall for it. If no one is watching your channel then get more interesting and informative, stop trying to get hits by being a troll!

Wow, thats pretty nasty. Actually, I love overlanding and I am trying to make entertaining content and spark discussions. Kinda a rude response. If you dont want to watch, then please dont.

The truth can hurt but sometimes it's necessary!
After looking at your previous posts I stand by my position that you are a youtube troll trying hard to get people to "watch and subscribe", so here you are posting contentious garbage trying to get those hits by picking an issue that gets people divided and arguing, pretty sure the mods don't like that but if it gets you your precious hits then you have done what you set out to do! Golf clap for you.....

And who is the Troll? Really nasty buddy. I'm not gonna justify arguing with an internet troll. No point, and no point getting upset by it. Hey, if ya like my videos, and my reviews, great, if not, move along. Personally, I enjoy making them and sharing. I am pretty sure the community appreciates it as well. Thanks for the input.

"To think that you can take parts off a 1955 engine and put them on a 1994 engine is just fantastic....."

Or extremely lazy. I doubt the pinnacle of ICE engineering happened back in the mid-50s where they could just continue to ride that plateau of awesome for 40 years.

"Chevy has always been innovative in their mechanical design. It's like they know it's going to be worked on....."

Do you call round wheels and square wheel wells innovative? You have to lift the crap out of their trucks to fit larger tires. And lowered, you end up with a round peg in a square hole. Aesthetic vomit. And the second sentence...... just setting yourself up for some poor reliability jokes.

"GM used to be about quality......"

Really? That box on the option sheet must not have been checked on the GMs that I've owned and driven.

"The Explorer has a frame and RWD....."

Not since 2012. The Expedition has a frame and RWD. But it's not a mid-size like you are talking about.

"The Durango is amazing...."

Huh? The Durango is mid-pack at best. Sales numbers have been pretty mediocre for its entire run.

"No aftermarket support......."

How much aftermarket support do you need to put gas in the tank, food in the cooler and head out for a week/weekend? Do you need a bumper? No. Do you need remote reservoir shocks? Do you need the latest offering from Icon to lift your truck? No.

"$10,000 to $12,000 for a solid axle swap......."

Does your money canon come in semi-auto or full auto? There's plenty of SAS'd GMs running around that didn't spend near that. Heck, I paid to have my Explorer SAS'd and that was only like $3500, and that included a ton of extras.

All that talk about what Chevy isn't doing and how they left the market, yet not a single mention of the Chevy Colorado? It's currently the only mid-size domestic pickup. And can't you get one trimmed out with remote reservoir shocks and a locker and a bunch of other trick offroad goodies? And they even offer it with a diesel. Maybe you didn't mention it because if you take one offroad, the side air bags are known to pop.

I do apologize about the explorer misinformation. I can't complain about GM reliability. From my experience, I have nothing but good things to say about my experiences. Most stayed rust free in Michigan climates. I had few breakdowns. In fact, in the 20 years of owning Chevy's, I have only been left on the side of the road once. I mean aesthetics, to each their own. I am not questioning the sales of the Durango, but personally, the last one I sat in, I was really impressed by things like the dash, and the instrument clusters, etc. As far as aftermarket support, yes, some of those things ARE needed. I spent quite some time looking for a rear bumper with a swing arm for my truck and it just doesn't exist. That's the first piece in a long line of parts I could never find for my truck when building it. Parts available to Jeep or Toyota. And I didnt mention Colorado. I do wish I did though. In fact, I hadnt heard about the Bison until after this video. But once again, I say this, Chevy has left the market in the full frame mid-size. The point of all this is this, Ford has the raptor and the Bronco, Jeep the Wrangler, now Dodge is stepping it up with the Rebel. Where is Chevy in all this? I just don't see Chevy making an effort to be an innovative as the other big two, or to really play a role in the off-road community. I could be wrong, but it's just my opinion.

I challenge you to convince me that ANY of those are needed to have a successful "overland" trip. Very little is truly needed to overland.

Oh no, I wouldn't argue that too much at all. You don't need a lot to Overland. But it can help! For me, the rear tire holder moved my spare to the back which gave me room to put a water tank under my truck for hot showers. Is that necessary? No, but a hot shower everyday, and up to 22 gallons of filtered drinking water definitely will make for a better trip.

He’s right you know.

Although he went about it in a poor way.

If you want to make YouTube videos, do it. But I’d suggest you post them to Facebook with links to your other social media platforms. Where that sort of thing is welcome and openly shared. This forum is not the place to peddle your channel.

Now if you want to expand on your video in more detail here and have an actual discussion with other members, I’m all for it.

Just don’t throw your video out here with the hey come watch vibe.

It just seems desperate.
