Yeah, you could do this too if your rig was able to ford > 43” of water ?

Nuclear submarines are all pure electric.
Maling a Jeep run submerged was incredibly complex. I know my M38 ran submerged with tail pipe and snorkel extensions. But keeping it all sealed, the sparkplugs, venting the difs, transmission, transfer case, engine was the reason I sold it..... Pure electric cars run underwater as easy as a trolling motor on a fishing boat.

Having lots of money can make life more enjoyable.
But making a simple pure electric car SHOULD be cheaper than building the same thing in gas. Car companies are all over the electric luxury cars because they make WAY MORE $$$$.... than building gas jobs. When someone sees the market for an electric version of the Model T, VW Beetle, Honda Civic...... once the infrastructure is ready for the mass production of cheap electric cars..... gas really will be dead. Only 2 issues to resolve, battery production and infrastructure for charging.

To the naysayers..... do you have a smart phone? A smart TV? Can you live without Wifi???? How do you navigate??? This is just a natural evolution. There are no negatives to a car which can run submerged with out an air intake or exhaust.

Submarines inherently need to be more watertight than a vehicle... They are not electric so the motors will run if the thing is full of water.

Water leaks killed lots of submariners until they improved battery tech. Salt water + battery acid = chlorine gas which is rather hard on crews.

Nuclear aircraft carriers are steam turbine over electric like nuclear subs. Late WWI battleships were oil fired steam turbine over electric too until much simpler geared turbines became a thing right before WWII.

Anything electric exposed to water will shortcut. Unless it is perfectly distilled ultra pure water. You can flood a submersible scooter in a crystal clear underwater cave and it will run for a while. Do the same in saltwater and it is instantly over.
The rivian is well sealed but I doubt they warranty the battery if you were to flood it.
