3D printed 12V fridge lid prop!

Happy Friday!

If you are like me, when you get back to base from a great camping/exploring trip you are always looking for something to prop your 12V fridge lid after you empty it so it can air dry.

We recently got a Bambu Lab P1S and I've been learning Fusion 360 and decided to design a neat prop for the fridges in our 100 Series and Sprinter Van!

I'm posting here to not only boost my model but to also share it in case someone wants to print and use it! Thanks for looking!

I was hoping you meant a prop to hold the lid open when you’re digging for a cold one. I currently use part of an old pool cue.

I usually use nothing and I have lots of bumps on my head to prove it. The corners of those things are hard.

This is an elegant solution but I find a folded up washrag or dishtowel does the job perfectly. Elegant? No. Multi-use and always close by? Yes.

I'm not knocking the idea or the innovation but also it would rattle if you drive with it in place, which a towel doesn't. Perhaps some adhesive foam/rubber pads would stop this. I would imagine most people don't drive their camping rig around with the fridge not used/propped open but I have a fridge in every vehicle (4 currently) and I occasionally do.

Thanks for your reply and thoughts!

It’s meant to just prop the lid after you get home and park and unload! Not for driving with the lid propped open!

For those withe the ARB Classics (and maybe other models?) the latch itself can be rotated up to keep the lid open about 2-3 inches. This OPs device is a nice solution otherwise, though.
