At the time of this trip my little family consisted of my very pregnant wife, my four year old daughter, and my self. This trip has been on the books for awhile, but due to hurricanes and other unplanned events we had to postpone the trip. When finally ready it was deemed to remote a destination for a seven month pregnant women to go. With little deliberation we decided to go ahead a planned but minus mamma. We set off... One epic father daughter trip before the new sisters arrival. With a sound track from Phish to Jack Johnson we took off to the wilds of Big Bend. Here are a few picks of the trip.
This is the first campsite up in the Chisos mountains. We arrived to late to apply for back country permits, so we had to stay in the general public camp site. The next day we got our permits and headed south. We started at River Road. While on river road we explored Rooney's Place, which is an unmarked trail on the south side of the trail.
This is my daughter strutting her stuff and exploring Rooney's place. She was totally pump
Once we were done we turned north on Glen Spring road.
We arrived at our first camp site. Thanks Will for the tip. Robbers roost was awesome. The camp site is located on the back side of the Chisos range. There was no one for miles. To be so remote was so refreshing to me.
