AT's new trailers

It's a wierd thing sitting here in Aus' seeing the "new" AT foldable and everyone drooling over it when we've had them here for years. :) Funny how the US trailers developed in a different direction to the Australian trailers. Martyn, you do do a good looking product though and I can see that your trailer ranks with any top of the line Aus product. Well done. (they need an icon for clapping!)

The teardrop looks great but skinny! Can two people sleep side by side in that? And I assume it has a kitchen in the rear?

The composite trailer is a collaboration between AT and Kamperoo, so the design will be familiar.

The twist to this is the composite materials and manufacturing process. The main body of the trailer weighs 150 lbs / 68 kg, and you can beat it with a sledgehammer all day long and just produce small depressions.

Put that on top of our chassis with independent trailing arm suspension and you have something worth it's salt.

I've been looking forward to see your new trailer. Nice surprise seeing two! :victory:

As expected from the AT crew, nice job. Here's to seeing these pop up all over the contry and beyond. :clapsmile

Martyn, when will we see pricing on the tear drops?

I have a few issues to deal with:

The unexpected crash of my hard drive, along with loss of data
The creation of web pages for each trailer, the coupler, the Flippac
The creation of pricing sheets for the above
The creation of navigation so you can get to the above

As many of you know creating web pages isn't quick, and it can be a little fiddly. I had hope to start today, but all I managed to do was reload my software and download the files for our web site.

Just when I thought I was getting ahead I realized I needed Photoshop and Flash to modify the photos and video.

At this rate I'd say I'll have something on the site by Monday.

I'm editing video right now and should have some of it up on my Phototbucket site later this evening or tomorrow. I'll post when it's ready.

Untill lately there hasn't been much demand for trailers that can accually go off-road. The biggest differance between the US and OZ is the amount of area you have to go off-road. Since there are more roads than not here, the market has always strived for products to stay on them. It's took a long time for someone to realize that there is a demand for off-road trailers in the US. Martyn and the guys at AT have done an outstanding job filling this market. Other US manufactures are realizing this demand too and are finally coming around. Now if we could only stop the govt and green weenies from trying to close all the areas we have to enjoy these products we would be better off.

Outstanding work AT!:)

Martyn, unless you really enjoy fiddling with the web stuff you really need to contract that out or something. Your talents are being wasted messing around bit banging.

My feeling about the difference in the market between Aus/Africa and here, is that "wheeling" tends to be less of a family afair here. It's much more extreme and the trails chosen are more dangerous, and usually involves 1 or 2 young men, some camping gear in the back of a 2 door Jeep, and a beer cooler. "Family Camping" means RV parks.

In Australia, touring the back country is done with a loaded 4 door, and the comforts of a trailer are appreciated for longer stays. Just my observations.

Anyway, so what are the details on the new coupler?

Congrats on both of the new trailers. I can't wait to see them in person.

Can't wait to see pricing too. :D

We tried that. Charges were $250.00 to post a pdf, and it took a week to upload it to the site.

I decided I could pay myself the $250.00 for 15 minutes work (or at least save the company that type of money).
