Ideas need for my next build

Hey Guys,
For those who don't know me my name is Josh, aka Casper.
First a little about my and the truck. I have an expedition rig already. It's a 2000 Nissan Xterra with a Adventure Trailer Chaser model and a few mods. You can view the build thread here.

In order to build the X I needed to purchase another vehicle for a DD. I ended up getting a 2000 Toyota Tundra. Not exactly what I wanted but it worked for the time, and at $4000 the price was right. Here are a few photos of it.

My intent was to keep this truck for a year or so and then get a newer F350. Well, at this point I just don't think I want to spend so much money on a new truck, so I have made up my mind to keep the Tundra. With that said I now need to make it more "personal" and "workable" for my lifestyle. It is a high mileage truck (160 when I got it 190 now) and came with a matching topper. Mileage doesn't bother me. However I have never really liked toppers, but it will have to go back on for the winter (at least this year)

So, I figure I need to outline what I want out of this truck. This is in order of importance.
1. Daily driver. Needs to be easy and comfortable to drive everyday. Keep in mind I live in Truckee, on a road that is 6 plus miles long and only gets plowed once a day.

2. I need something for work. I sometimes carry lumber and tools. I would like to have some kind of rack system, maybe.

3. I do use the truck to go camping when the X isn't needed. It towing the Chaser.

4. Think "Swiss army knife" and "x-boyscout". I like to be prepared. (this should probably go with number one.)

With all that said I am looking for advise. I have done extensive reseach, and will continue to do more. I just figured I would ask all of you for help as well. The more ideas the better. Keep them coming. Anything you have thought would be cool, lets hear it. Photos help, I love pictures. I am also thinking that this build should cost no more than $10,000 when done (not all at once)

Things I am thinking of:
1. Lift, 2 to 3 inches should be plenty I think????? What kind????? I would like a nice ride, not a "rock crawler". It's primarily for the deeper snow I drive in during the winter.

2. Some kind of rack/tool storage for the bed. Ideally something that could be open during the summer and closed during the winter with the ability to always have the pup back there.

3. Bumpers??????? Both my front and rear bumpers are dented up. I would like to replace them. But with what????????? I haven't seen much that looks good on a Tundra except factory ones, plus I really don't NEED a winch. However it would come in handy in the winter.

4. Interior??????? I think it's fine, but????????? I do use the GPS out of my X, and will have to find a way to mount it.

5. ???????????????? Anything else??????????

I know this is a long post, and if you have hung in this long than how about some advise.......

Thanks guys.

You could always sell me your Tundra for $4500 and then you wouldn't have the dilemma of what mods to make anymore! :wings:

Make sure the Timing Belt is good first off. It is creeping up there in the mileage, better safe than sorry.

Look into Toytec lifts, not too expensive, but still quality product.

If you can, make a hidden winch in the front bumper if you really WANT one. lol

As tempting as that is, I think I'll keep her. Thanks though.

Thanks for the info. I think the timing belt has been changed once, but I have to check the paperwork that came with the truck. I got it from a good friend, so I know most of the history of it.
I had not seen the Toytec lifts, thanks I will check them out. As for the winch in the stock bumper idea, well I had been thinking about tht, but we shall see.

How about an AT FlipPac ?
He, you offering to donate one?????????
Don't you have enough of my money? Oh, wait. I guess not, I'm still trying to figure out how I can afford the Offroad Teardrop. :wings:
