XJ CPS removal

Last time I did this I pulled the x-member and lowered the tranny as far as I could get it to go. Then with a combination of 1/2 of the extensions and ujoints I had in my tool box I managed to get to it.

Its tough. I think the XJ one is the hardest to get to that I've had to do on a Jeep.

How do you get to the %@#&%^^$ top bolt? I have spent 3 hours under the thing and I may have touched it once HELP!!!!!!!!

Weasel:confused:

thats the one on the tranny housing, right? two bolts?

if its the one I'm thinking of, you're not alone in your salty sailor talk. Its a tough one.

Lowering the tranny is a good idea.

I'd also log onto Naxja.org and see what others have done...

Extensions and u-joints. Then you'll slap yourself on the forehead for wasting all that time earlier today. ;)

If the last one I did wasn't soo covered in oil from leaking all the time I would have just broken out the plasma cutter and made me an access hole in the firewall.

But alas, I've already set that XJ on fire 3-4 times welding on it, figured i'd be pushing my luck :)
