1991 land cruiser, is it worth it?

FJ80s routinely sell for $2500 just south of you. That leaves a bunch of cash for the upgrades. I don't see $10000 worth from the photos and description but I haven't priced Corbeau seats lately. If the upgrades that have been done are attractive to you go test drive it. The 3FE is known to be a bit short on power in an 80 but drive it yourself to see what you think.

I agree with Lowenbrau.

Wholy drawer system batman! Are they planning on hauling dead bodies?

Divorce sale? Not to be one to capitalize on someone elses pain, but if you like the truck, offer $10,000 and leave your number when he says no. You might just get a call! If you don't mind the right hand drive thing, Tyee Imports up in the Comox area usually has JDM turbo diesel 80s for not a lot more.

It's a nice truck but gas 80's located in Candad are overpriced in my opinion. As mentioned above, I would cross the border, buy an unmolested version and then upgrade yourself.

I think the key issue is that it's a 91. Although fine, the best ones to get are 94-97. 1FZ engine, full float rear, etc
It's got some really nice upgrades and mods though. He's probably adding his emotion and sweat equity into the price but unfortunately, I feel it's overpriced too.
Although a clean looking truck.

If I had the choice, being in Canada, I think you really should go for a diesel 80. I would!!

If your drawer system consists of a single drawer that is as big as your entire cargo compartment - doesn't that defeat the purpose of having a drawer system?

As already stated, $12K is too much for a 3FE truck. They are dogs! If it was a 94 - 97, and you were specifically looking to build an 80 - then maybe. You probably couldn't buy a clean 80, and add all those mods yourself for much less than 12K.

Wow...I thought for $12K it was a diesel....

Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $3500 for a 3FE FJ80 unless it was already set up...then maybe add 1-2K to the price.

I bought my '92 for $650. The engine was in peices in the back.... but everything else was intact..... boils down to...

Too much money.... I wouldn't!

Any LC80/J8 of any year is slow. 3F-E is a fantastic engine and arguably better engine for the bush. If anyone is concerned between 3F-E or 1FZ-FE on highway power, they're looking at the wrong platform, these things just weren't designed for modern highway speeds, nor should they have been.
