I have an AllProOffroad.com front tube winch bumper for a 1gen runner $250, but I'm sure shipping would kill the deal. Its in great shape. 93546 zip -E. Sierras.

Start junkyarding for a 92-95 V6 auto with the 31 inch tire option. Those had factory 4.88. With the Taxpayers cash for clunkers program you have a good chance of finding these in the Junkyards these days.

The axle disconnect tube can be swapped with yours or just hook it up so it says locked. It is a bolt in both ends.

How to read the diff codes.

Reading my mind. Planning on checking the local yards tomorrow. Been researching all the gearing info this morning. The fun part will be finding a 4x4 V6 auto (the 4x4 part=fun) around here.
Need to tackle an exhaust manifold leak today... hoping a bolt isnt sheard off........

Unfortunately, I dont understand the bit about the axle disconnect tube...? Info or pics on what you are referring to?

The 90's trucks had fixed hubs and an vacuum operated disconnect on the Dif. It can be swapped with the driver-side tube off your diff.

Is yours missing the bracket that bolts the down tube to the bell housing? The exhaust flexing will be a continuous problem with blowing out the down pipe gaskets. If it is missing the bracket get one ordered.

I plan to put a flex pipe on mine in front of the CAT to give a little flex.

The other problem is the threads stripping on head, again that missing bracket contributes. With a 90 deg drill there is Plenty of room to Helicoil all but the very last one up by the fire wall if you find the studs pulled free. Pep Girls has a kit in stock for $30 if you have them in your area.

Keep in mind the factory 4.88s don't accept any aftermarket gears. The gears are thinner but I haven't heard of any problems with them because of that fact. If you're certain 4.88 is the way to go for you then it's still a great option. Lockers, LSDs etc. still fit.
