Goodyear TD tires

Glenn -

These were the OEM tires on GM 4x4s in the early and mid-nineties. I had several such sets and they wore well and had good traction in gumbo mud.

Would I buy more? Good question, if only because I suspect Goodyear's tire technology has advanced in the intervening years. If memory serves, they are still a part of the Goodyear product line - which means that somebody (or several somebodies) still buy them.

i have been tempted by the price, but im not sure about the C load rating.

Since I have a two door Wrangler, the load range is OK with me. My main concern is how well they hold up to everyday use. Mine will see about 90% roadways and 10% off road.

I had these on a 2006 Tacoma, and they worked very well, especially for the price. Put about 15k on them, 90% pavement, 10% off-road and no problems.

The tread looks like it would owrk well for a good All season/all-around tire. Sort of reminds me of the Dear/Wild Country TXR's. If that's a size you're interested in, I can't see why they'd be a bad tire. Plus I think a SWB Wrangler should be fine with lr-C Tires.
