Well, knowing something of the early (1950s and 60s) Tucker Sno-Cats, and I've also owned a '96 Pisten Bully 280, there was a SERIOUS problem with the torque such tracks apply to esp. the axles on what was, essentially, a light pickup truck chassis. And on this rig, it very definitely is a light pickup truck. But... if it works.... that price is a lot less than what a new set of Mattracks would go for, even though with Mattracks you get tracks under all four corners, not just two as in this rig.

If you're lucky at auction, you can get Mattracks for about that or even a little less... and then you also have use of your vehicle in the brown season when you put wheels back on.

By the way, it's an ASV Track Truck that's for sale...fellow listed it as AVS. ASV is the company that now makes skidsteers. These snow rigs was their original business. The tracks are run by hydrostatic pumps, which is the right way to go...until those pumps go, which they do. And that is exactly what is the multi-thousand dollar problem with the Pisten Bully I referred to in my prior post..... yecch.

Ok we want details about your Pisten Bully. I own a couple PB200Ds and just bought a 260D, so I have done my fair share of working on them as well as operating them.

By the way my name is Randy and I found this site while surfing the web for Pisten Bullys.
