I'm planning on buying a Mombasa tent for the family for X-mas from TRDParts4u. There are several options, but the best I can tell the differences are mainly in tent material and price.
I'm wondering if I could get feed back from some who have or have used the tents and which one you like or would recomend

Thanks

I was wondering about this too. Correct me if I am wrong but the Camping Lab and the models sold by compactcamping are all Mombasas? I guess I just need to find away to see all these in person.

Mombasa has three tent models available:
Expedition - is a two person model
Adventure - is a three person model
Overland - is a two person with a covered/enclosed enter model

Then they have two fabrics available, urethane coated polyester and a poly/cotton blend.
Expedition - available in both fabrics
Adventure - only poly/cotton
Overland - only poly/cotton

In the more humid conditions of TX, you would find the improved breathability of the poly/cotton fabric a benefit. So for I've have my poly/cotton in rainy conditions a few times and it's works the same as the urethane coat fabric in keeping the rain out. Need to get my poly/cotton out for some colder camping to see how well it controls condensation in those conditions.

Compactcampingconcepts, racktents, trdparts4u and cartopcampers are all selling Mombasa RTTs.

Campinglab RTTs are very similar but not identical to Mombasa RTTs. If I understand it correctly, Campinglab imports their RTTs from a trading company which gets their RTTs from the same factory that makes Mombasa's RTTs. But because Mombasa has North America import agreements with the factory, the RTTs the factory sells to the trading company will have different specs.

Did you end up purchasing this? The RTT9009? If so, any pics of it open from the interior/underside?

Impressions? Did you get the changing room? If so, impressions, pics???

This may be obvious but remember to price shipping. depending on which one you are looking at. The largest one can be quite heavy. I have the large camping lab without packaging it's 120 lbs. I also compared the two when deciding and the free ship from Camp Lab saved me a few bucks even with the slightly increased price. Both tents are made at the same factory, doesn't necessarily mean they are the same tent but I'd bet they are pretty close. my 2 cents

I just bought the RTT9009 and the changing room this weekend. It will be a couple of weeks before I get my Baja rack and get everything mounted but I'll post up pics when it's done.
