Water In Passenger Floor?

So I notice when it's raining, or I wash the Disco I'm now getting water in the passenger floor. It appears as if it's coming from somewhere up above since it's mostly collected on the rubber mat, rather than soaking up through the bottom of the carpet.

Where should I be looking to fix this issue?

windshield seal? something causing issues around the cowl?

03/04 conversion? really? without the 4.6L it is far from being converted lol

Yeah, that's typically clogged sunroof drains, but you don't have those, huh? Then my best guess would be windscreen seal.

When my Disco II did that it was clogged drains for the AC condenser. The condensation would build up and then pour out of the heater vent on to the passenger floor.

There are two rubber nipples in the top of the transmission tunnel that need to be played with a little to get the water flowing again.

well if you dont have sunroofs then it would be the AC condensor drains. the passenger one is right above the front drive shaft comming through the floor board.

take a piece of wire and bend a real small hook in the end and you will be able to dig out what has them blocked.

clean both of them one on each side.

Guess the best method to try and test this is to actually get someone with a water hose and another inside and see when it starts leaking, if it does at all.

It's not the A/C drains, the 'nipples' on them have been cut off long ago to prevent this, tried to see if anything was clogged up in there anyways just in case and no luck.

not sure if its any help, but on Defenders its usually the door seal, it finds its way in the top and trickles down to the mat.

If I park mine in a certain way in the rain I get it in the drivers footwell. Passenger one seems to fair better for some reason. maybe because its RHD? haha :)

I've had the trifecta. A/C drains, sunroof seals, and the windhshield seal, simultaneously. By process of elimination, it might be your windshield. In my case, it was a really bad aftermarket windshield replacement job. I was able to fix it with a Permatex windshield seal repair kit. However, I had to take the ENTIRE interior out to find it. I have also heard that sometimes the mastic seal between the roof and the boddy sides near the rain gutters can fail.

Yeah, I know what ya mean there. I actually had that issue already with the drivers side of my Disco, so naturally I suspected this first now that I'm getting water on the passenger side. However I really believe this is coming through the dash somewhere, and I don't like that.

Drive a Defender!

Buy me one and I will. :sombrero:
