I missed the post about the forthcoming mods.
I have OME springs, shock and steering stabilizer as well as 3/4" spacers from TeraFlex I think. The 3/4" spacers restored height lost to bumpers, winch and "roof" rack. And they stopped some annoying squeeking too. The OME springs and shocks provide ride at least as good as stock, but its been four years so I don't recall how much better.
I have SkidRow oil pan, steering and other skids, and they fix the OEM scoop skid problem. Don't forget the steering box skid, it is cheap insurance for a box that hangs low.
My LJ also has a 1" body lift and motor mount lift, from JKS too, as well as quick disconnect sway bar links.
Mine is a Rubicon so the lockers came with it and work well, no issues, ever.
With the 4.10's and 255/85R - 16 BFG M/T KO's (no longer offered, but now KM2's are offered in that size) which are 33" x 10.5" performance is great off road or around town or on back roads, but a bit weak on the highway - and that is primarily due to the roof rack and its accessories and the greatly added drag.
If you go roof rack, think 4.56's or 4.88's. Without a rack, I think 3.73's or 4.10's would be great.
